gifts for syrian relatives
Asslam Allaikum,
My husband is going home to Syria for the first time in 14 years, and wants to bring gifts for everyone, but can't think of anything. Can you guys give us ideas on what to bring them? Just nice generic gifts for adults & kids. LOTS of them.
Thanks!

Big Macs, Apple Pie, American Flags..other generic American wares..
Seriously you should load up on stuff they might not have there. Like Amreekan candy and such.

Hmmm... that'll be hard to take on the plane. ..if they're the helium kind. If they're the balloon-animal kind, then that's ok.
But.. I have to say, regarding balloons and candy and such.. He's going to Damascus, which is a big metropolis, so.. I'd guess that they have these things there already.
Any adult gift ideas?

Re: gifts for syrian relatives
the most common things ive seen given are things like clothes and things for the house ( but those are usually big and hard to pack). for the kids, toys or clothes. perfume/cologne is always a safe route to go for adults, you can get a bunch of those perfume/lotion gift sets when theyre on sale after a holiday or something. my older girl cousins love when we send them makeup.
clothes has got to be the most popular gift that ive seen though.
