Your business "plan?" Someday? "Someday my dream will come..."?

And one night you'll wake up and discover it all flipped on you. Suddenly you're old. And it didn't happen. And it never will. 'Cause you were never going to do it, anyway. The dream on the horizon became yesterday and got lost.

Then you'll bullcrap yourself, it could never have been, anyway. And you'll recede it into memory...and zone out in a Barcalounger with daytime TV on for the rest of your life...

Don't talk to me about killing. You're doing yourself. In this yellow-and-orange prison. Bit by bit. Every day.

All it ever took was a down payment on a Lincoln Town Car. What the **** are you still doing driving a cab?

Some people can talk all day about about dreams for ambitious business plans, but most don't end up doing anything at all. It's a sad fact of life that most people aren't equipped with the appropriate intelligence or social or business skills to set something like that up. They hate their mundane jobs and lives; most of the talk is just to escape from their situations, a "light at the end of the tunnel" incentive to carry on existing. Or sometimes it's just insecurity talking. In my experience most people who went on to make something of their lives were the ones who talked less and did more.

"Life's a ***** and then I married one." Those words of wisdom were also from a cabbie. I hate talking to strangers (who aren't young, female and attractive) but I always make an exception for taxi drivers.

What's wrong with driving a cab?
It's good, honest work. You meet different sorts of people, you get to stop and pray when you want, and maybe you get to drive your kids around sometimes.

It's not like you can't make a decent living out of it.
Your rizq is already determined anyway.

If you don't have the passion or drive to work for whatever you want, then don't kid yourself and just call it a day.

Since when were it just business plans which freed you all from a mundane life. Looks like Bush and his fellow Republicans have made some sort of impression on you. A fulfilling life can be had by anything that is fulfilling to the mind and soul and what you possess in material worth......well if that gives you satisfaction then that's pretty sad.

I know.

But I think for a lot of people, the appeal in having their own (small) business is the independence you get. Feeling of being your own boss and all that.
It's like owning your own home. When people dream of their own home, they're not necessarily dreaming of mansions; just financial independence and security.

Success is subjective. If working a job and raising a family is whats important to you and you do that then you are a sucess. We had this Guilt-Trip Yuppie-ness in the 80's from Thatcher and Co. It passed don't let the world dictate to you what success is, it is what ever it is to you.
