Majority of scholars say that the face is not 'awrah, however in case there's a chance or fear of fitnah then covering becomes wajib. (Some have made the exception that in the west perhaps one could leave face uncovered for sake of da'wah...)

On Islamica the issue is not whether the woman's face is 'awrah, rather it is that of decency. Should a Muslimah post her pic on internet forum for the whole world to see? (A rhetorical question)

On the behalf of "Revival of The Noble Muttawa League" we would like to announce the following:

Due to years of ignorance and disregard for the noble Sunnah of our Liege-lord (sal Allahu 'alayhi wassalam), we the Muttawa League have decided to commence a series of threads dealing with various issues.

The first project has been named "Ihya as-sunnah"* (trans. Revival of Sunnah). Any threads under this title will deal with issues relating to Our Prophet (sall Allahu 'alayhi wassalam), His noble sunnah, the importance of loving him and following his sunnah and so on. Later on we may have other projects such as "difa' as-sunnah" dealing with Authority of Sunnah bi ithinillahi ta'ala.


Ihya as-sunnah is the name taken from a famous work called "Ihya as-sunnah" written by the great Reviver of Islam in 18th C, Shaykh Uthman Dan Fodio (ra)

No I haven't been able to recruit anyone yet, you're probably one of the few that have shown any interest. If you're interested, consider yourself part of the league. Although no action should be taken in the name of the league until our Manifesto comes out. We are taking baby steps towards building up an infrastructure of Muttawas over Islamica.

So far I've able to bag a superdelegate Shaykh Jamal al-din al-roll. Also I've been given some implicit support by the one and only jaysh.

Be on the look out until further notice Muttawa-initiate.
