Re: The Party Planner
for one of my really close friends getting married who plays the guitar and loves the whole cafe/coffee culture, i suggested we have a bridal shower that's got a COFFEEHOUSE THEME and she's in LOVE with the idea. i feel so awesome making her happy!! i can't wait to put it together.
we're thinking of black, brown and gold for dress code/decor. we're gonna buy those quaint black and white posters of singers to put all over the walls like they have in cafe's if we can find some. the walls of the place we're having it in will go PERFECTLY..theyre a rust color in one room, maroon in the other (living and dining) i'm unbelievably excited. her family has a bunch of guitars which we'll use for decoration purposes as well....we'll make the whole place smell like coffee..complete with cafe style desserts, espressos, fraps, deli sandwiches, etc. candles and some soft guitar/music playing in the background will add to the feel.
and so, i'm looking at favors now that go with the theme and i've found these two..the ESPRESSO your love is such a corny cute phrase..i'm in love!

Re: The Party Planner
i planned my SIL's baby shower, and it was a tea party theme for the most part.
this is what i put together for the favors:
i used white pails:
Miniature Favor Pails, garden pails
stuffed them with little bags with a mix of white candy coated almonds and chocolate (i used the same green pouch that's pictured):
Silver Amorini Chocolate Hearts, Wedding Candy
Jordan Almonds, Candy Wedding Favors
add a mini personalized tea tin (i got green tea):
Miniature Personalized Tea Tins, Wedding Party Favors
and then a pink, mini, heart shaped 'card'...with the words 'love grows' on the front..that basically is embedded with seeds so you can plant it in the pail and grow your own flowers.
for decorations around the house, i used a lot of fresh cut flowers and balloons. pinks, greens, and whites. and i got pink pails like the one linked about...and filled them with those almonds and put them around the flower/balloon arrangements.

Re: The Party Planner
Oki, so here are a couple pictures taken of the dinner/reception we had. It was POURING up until an 1.5hr before the start of the dinner. I was crying non-stop. Alhumdulilah it stopped but it was a mad rush to get absolutely everything out. Ahhhh. Not everything turned out as I imagined/wanted it to but Alhumdulilah the dinner went beautifully and everyone totally loved it yayy [and are surprisingly still talking about it double yayy].
Oh and I TOTALLY hated the chairs. I wanted the all white wooden ones. It was an unfortunate mix-up, my fault, and it was the day before and way too late to change anything. Ugh.
The Cakes:
Candy:
Displayed beside the candy & cakes:
Just something for the guests to look at on their way to the bathroom:
Kids Hut: I still gotta find the picture of the sign we did up for it. The kids loved it, we had toys in there and they had all the lawn to run ragged around. [Oh and I don't hate these chairs, I hated the other ones]
Juice:

Asalamu Alaikum,
Since I first joined Islamica, I have never been able to view any of Shadha's pictures. The same goes for here.
