I bought a nonrefundable airline ticket by accident

so i was just messing around on priceline and i bought a ticket (to houston) by accident.
my parents won't let me go alone. hopefully they'll change their mind by friday.

but in the meantime, i'm depressed cuz im out 200 dollars.

and i dont feel like getting out of my depressed mode, so please make me feel bad. what else could i have done with this money?

Did you pay using a visa/mastercard? Cuz they usually have some sort of insurance on it...in case you miss the flight, etc. Call em to find out.

yeah....ask them as a general inquiry w/o giving your info...and see what your particular brand of card covers, etc. and then go on from there...

if nothing works out...you could tell em how you were unaware of it being non-refundable...im sure you could get away with an excuse like that if you keep insisting it...and have a good record=never filed a big insurance claim before

anyway, hope my suggestions help...let us know what happens

anyways. yeah call your credit card company. i did the same thing for a book i ordered from online that i found a better price for only after i purchased it if that doesn't work see if you can sell it to someone

I've done this twice with two different airlines and it worked.

Call the airline and ask them if the transaction has been processed assuming you paid through credit card (do this ASAP). If it has not, usually they'll just cancel it if you ask them to. It if has been processed, well then I guess it's time for plan B.

thanks for the suggestions. i did the 'name your own price' thing so there's no way to get out of it cuz it's not through the airline, it's through priceline.

i mean, it's a good deal. i just have to convince my mom to let go. im twenty years old!
