AsSalamu' Alaykum,

At work, I go into the children's section and I see a number of child left unattended. Upon seeing this, I become very upset. How could parents be so neglectful of the blessings Allah, swt, gave them?

Anyway, I see this little girl, she must have been three, over in a corner by herself with tears in her eyes. I went over to her and asked her if she was oki. She said no and that she just wanted to lay down. I tried to find a seat for her but she rejected it. When she saw her mother, on the other side of the rather large room on the cellphone no less, she screamed and ran away. The mom looked at her, ignored her, and went back to talking and flipping through books. Back turned to her daughter.

Oh the urge I felt to reach out and beat the living **** out of that mother. For minutes the mother left the child alone. Not even turning around to see where the child was. I stayed watching the child but I lost sight of the child when another customer took my attention.

A few seconds later, my eyes began darting around for the girl. Couldn't find her anywhere in the kids room. I look at the mother- still yapping away flipping through books.

I quickly went off in search of the little girl. Rushed into the bathroom, heard a noise but nothing too telling. Up and down the aisles I looked, she was no where to be found. I couldn't help but to think, what if someone had taken her? My heart was pounding and I felt my eyes fill up with tears. Again and again I searched around, still nothing. As I was walking back to the kids room to see, hoping, if she wandered back in, I FINALLY saw her mom running out to look for her.

ABOUT GOD DAMN TIME YOU STUPID SELFISH *****!

She called out the girls name in the bathroom and found her.

What if someone had taken that girl? I'm sure the mother would cry and scream about how she only had her back turned for a moment, which would have been an enormous freakin lie and I totally would have told the police that. It's so unfortunate and mind-boggling to see how many people leave their young children unattended. Sickening.

It took me a good hour to calm down from how furious and upset I was. Though, I'm still not quite over it.

Stupid people should not have kids.

That story is very disheartening. What's even worse, kids of stupid people tend to become stupid aswell. It's like a vicious circle.

if stupid people shouldnt have kids then couldnt somebody who is smarter than you say that you shouldnt have kids because you're stupid in comparison to them?

(and of course somebody even smarter than they are could say the same thing about them and so on)

For a moment there I thought the story was going to end in you telling us how the mother discovered a limp, lifeless form slouched over the toilet in a shabby cubicle at the end of the smog-encased ladies room.

Anhyhow, that is sad. But I recall my mum getting mad at me and ignoring me countless times whilst I stalked off shouting about the injustice of it all (more or less). I remember doing that in the shopping center once, my mum and dad looked all over for me, panicked that I'd run off...I think I was six.

i was trying to make a point, but anyway i agree with you that people shouldnt leave their kids unattended. Also they shouldnt let them play near loaded guns which sometimes leads to kids getting shot (i've heard of it but havent seen it yet alhamdulilla)

i agree with shadha stupid ppl and ppl who underestimate the job of being a parent should be jailed for duration of eight years and nine months and released only upon receiving with 3000 rep pts by authorities.

I think people should stop having children full stop. How about adopt the ones that exist already without parents? The earth is populated enough already!

The problem is it's really hard to adopt with all the strict policies, waiting lists, and what not (rightfully so though, since there are so many crazies wanting kids for the wrong reasons), but for those who say; i'll just adopt since there are so many orphans in the world, trust me it's really really not that easy.


Regarding unworthy parents; I once saw a mother dragging a kid on a leash. She was literally taking huge strides and pulling her kid, who was around 5 feet behind her, along. Everytime the kid stopped, she would be yanked to start walking again. the worst part was when the mother stopped for some reason, the kid caught up and kind of hugged her mothers legs, the woman simply pushed her away and started walking again. I seriously felt like cutting off the leash and taking that poor girl away.
The worst is those women who abuse their own kids to keep their boyfriend, or let their boyfriends abuse their kids.

Lots of people adopt, there's this cute couple i know of - pakistani guy and malaysian lady, they couldnt have kids so they adopted a baby and she managed to breast feed it somehow so it's alllll good. masha Allah.

Fostering is good. I might want to foster.

Like necter mentioned, you have to jump through so many hoops and unfortunately many adoption agencies worldwide use the children as pawns to gain thousands of dollars out of desperate people wanting children. I have heard of people dropping a good 20 grand to adopt a child.
