Near Death Experiences
AsSalamu' Alaykum,
So get this, my light turns green and I was about to go make my left turn, but before getting my license I had a driving instructor and he always stressed to me to look before going even if I do have the right away. Well, ALHUMDULILAH I did because the light for the cars going forward [into the lane I would be turning into] was red for a few seconds but out of no where this SUV comes barreling through it at no little than 65mph. I slammed on the breaks, even though I wasn't moving, natural instinct I suppose, and I was like, HOLY ****! Next thing I know, a second SUV comes flying through the red light going even faster.
If I would have turned, I would have been clobbered by the first SUV and the second, at the speed it was going and how close it was, would have had no time to slow down and would have just finished me off.
SubanAllah. Afterwards, it took me awhile to shake it off.
And that's my near death experience story for today.

I have near death experiences about every other month with 18 wheelers, but that's when I'm careless and don't hog the right lane. It's funny when they think I'm being a smartass when I bike in the middle of the right lane, when in reality I do it to prevent idiots like them from passing too close.

Glad you are all right Shadha. that must have been both frightening and a relief. I had a similar experience with a bus that ran a red light, but I was on foot. whew. glad both of us looked first.
When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were going to talk about dying and coming back to life again with a report from the other side!
Still glad you are okay.

I stuck a paperclip into a light switch in 1st grade and blew out all the power in my county. It turned my arm black.

Re: Near Death Experiences
Lol, awww no Skinwalker. I didn't see the light yet.
I think its scary having to walk around in a city. I admit, I just learned how to walk across a city street the other year but I'm still scared to do it. Between the lights and the timing and predicting whose going to turn where. I dunno how people just jump into the street without a care.
zzze, hahaha, you are SO not driving when you come here. So I guess that leaves me as your personal chauffeur.

Re: Near Death Experiences
Glad you're safe i may not agree with you a lot of the time but i wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you. I've had about 10/11 that i can recall, one of them was when someone held a knife to my throat, that was pretty messed up.

Yep sure does. Makes me wonder how many more near death experiences I have to experience before it really happens

Re: Near Death Experiences
Asallamu 'alaikum wa rahmatulLahi wa barakatuh
I've got loads, but usually, they shock me so much I don't have any idea how to react and am just... numb afterwards.
Insha Allah, if I'm ever in such a situation again, I'll remember to remember Allah.
Once, I got out of a bus, and another HUGE bus came BARELLING by and I pressed flat against my bus and could FEEL the other bus rushing behind me. Then I just made my way back to my home, feeling rather shaken. ^^;
And then there was the time I was choking since I shoved a whole sandwich into my mouth AND swallowed. Stumbled around while choking, making gestures at my little sister and maid, and they just laughed. Guess they didn't understand me or something.
But then I managed to swallow it. ^^; AlhamdulilLah.
And if you think my post is boring, I must say that while I was choking, I was thinking to myself, 'NO! You can't die such an uncool death!'

Re: Near Death Experiences
12 years ago we were hiking in a conservatory with rivers, waterfalls and caves. I fell down a steep, sharp cliff inside a dark cave, hit my head against the side of the wall and slammed into the canyon floor, face up. If I hadn't been wearing my rucksack on my back, I would have ended up dead, or a para / quadriplegic.
A few years later my first car, a Civi, t-boned a Caddy STS ... needless to say the larger car was pretty much intact while my Civic was a complete mess ... people driving by turned their heads away in horror because they thought no one could have survived it. Because of the force of the impact, I had blacked out and when I came to I was just like "....not right now ... I'm not going, not right now" ...
.. and I walked away from that, alhamdulillah.

Re: Near Death Experiences
uhm. i broke my leg once. it hurt so much i thought i was going to die. does that count? ok, when i was a kid i had tuberculosis, and it was left un-diagnosed and i quit food and drink, therefore i was barely conscious and always dehydrated, and that almost killed me. i was about six.

that reminds me of when i was like 10 and i was eating a life-savers and i somehow swallowed it. it felt like there was a rock in my throat i was so scared i thought i was really gonna die. my sister was scaring me more by saying "omg now we have to take you to the doctor and they have to cut your throat open to get it out | |
