yeah, my mom is one of those people. She actually felt really ashamed of herself last summer, becuaes I COULDN'T walk, and was on full crutches, while she was the one using the cart. I hate using those carts. I'd rather use crutches than use those carts.

The fact that there are so many muslims in America and we have so much money, but no power. Why dont we have a huge lobbiest like AIPAC? Why dont we have hospitals or universities? Why dont we have Islamic banking (or Islamic loan system so all the students dont have to worry about interest)?

Our parents generation came in and did all the grunt work, establishing the masaajid and MSAs and ISNA / ICNA and other social structures.
Now, its our generation's turn to continue that, and move on to the next level - creating financial self-sufficiency or creating new alternatives to interest-based loans and stuff. Islamic banks are on the way inshallah, but we'll probably get them here in Canada first since the operating margins are higher - in the States its about 8%, and in Canada its around 13%.
Lobbies? CAIR is growing, and it'll need all the support we can give. Make no mistake, it is a lobby group.
Hospitals and Universities? Yo, we love challenges. You're on.
Since you're ditching us and RIS this year, why don't you just have your people call my people. We'll do lunch. We can talk then.
