and I never denied that you could make all these pronouncements, but until you actually see someone that fits one of these profiles die or suffer in a terrible manner, then you cant definitively say that you would not react in some way. These reactions are not voluntary, one doesnt choose to feel bad for someone who is suffering. In any case, like you said, i cant tell you who you would feel bad for or not.

hearing about it is just hearing words. Seeing somebody suffer in person is what elicits the reaction.

you dont have to pay to watch people die, you can watch all the gore vids you want on the internet for free. On the other hand I've never seen someone get murdered in real life, so I cant tell if the effect is different than seeing a video of it, but I would imagine its more intense.

chunks of human flesh with alot of blood around them. think of all the meat and chunks that you can see coming out of some guy's neck after terrorists behead him, or all the red and pink goo that are visible around a dead iraqi kid's head in those pictures and videos floating around. Thats gore

Not sure. When I watched this one beheading online I couldn't hear much. Sound was too muffled. Riveting viewing though.

The brother I watched it with said he'd never seen a female more engrossed in his life. He said even some brothers squirmed.

It was a poignant moment.
