The Official I Want to Quit My Job and Quit School And Be a Fulltime Sufi Thread
Yeah,.... so the title says it all...
You ever get the feeling you're not doing what you should be with your life?
Ever feel like leaving it all behind and making a new start?
Ever feel like if you found your dream and followed it 100% that you'd end up for the better?
What about practical considerations, i.e. money? And where do you make the distinction between those and in trusting in God?

Part of being a good muslim is being good at your job and doing well in school. No reason to get into any of the sects of islam just follow the quran and sunnah.

I thought I was on the right path but, I've been shuffling through these hopes and dreams which are relentlessly continuing to drift further and further. And I'm starting to realize, I might be on the wrong boat o_O

You can be a full-time sufi even while working and schooling.
Maybe you should quit your job and become a full-time shepherd though. All the prophets were shepherds. Plus, lambs are the cutest.

Everyone feels like that once in a while. Always remebr that making money is a requirement on you so what ever you do you need to make money. I've started over a few times in my life and its worked out alright.

Re: The Official I Want to Quit My Job and Quit School And Be a Fulltime Sufi Thread
Plenty of people of tasawwuf (from the past) studied, gained knowledge and earned a living. Sure they took time off to work on theirselves, but afterwards they went right back to what they were doing along with studying, and teaching others.
To assume that they just isolated theirselves from the rest of the world is wrong.

I sometimes wish I could quit school and everything and go live in the jungle feasting on grubs and spending my free time grooming for lice.

Noble ambitions but make sure you do Salaat-ul Istiqaarah and seek guidance from your family and friends. Also, your goal should be to be a full-time muslim, not sufi, not salafi, not deobandi, not any of those weird names.
