Your Best Friend is BLACK

You remember the first day of your life experience as an American. You and your sisters, a fresh faced FOBs, and new kids on the block or new kids in the nation, going to an American middle school. Not aware of the social norms or intricacies of American life you have a hard time making new friends especially since you wore a Salwa Kamez to school on your first day. You hated being in America and wish your parents hadn't decided to open a gas station for a pathway to riches. One day you go into boy's bathroom and contemplate suicide with a razor you stole from science class. As you hestiate doing that you hear a knock on the bathrrom door stall.

"Yo! What's up brother? Did your mother tell you can go blind doing that?" said the mysterious voice. You throw the blade into the toilet and flush it. You then open the door and see…..



"Astrafillah! Don't you use a lota?" says the mysterious big black man. You are speechless in the sight of beautiful black stallion. "Let me use the toilet. The others are stinky." After he finished you are still there outside of the stall in awe. "So where you from brother?"

"Africa?" you say.

"Really? Did you know that Desis are black." he says. "You Muslim?" You shake your head. He extends his hand and says Asslamu Alaikum and introduces himself as Faheem Jones or aka Uncle Fahim. From that day on you made your first friend. Not only was he a Muslim but faithful Muslim who you and him would excuse on Fridays and attend Jummah. He taught you how to be cool and dress without sacrificing your deen. Whenever he visits your dad's gas station he would jokingly lecture him on ills of selling alcohol.

Now, its years later. You haven't seen your best friend since high school graduation. Uncle Fahim decided to go to a local community college to study landscaping engineering while you go to a stuffy liberal ivy league school. After a semester of being a way you get a chance to see your family and get together with your buddy, Uncle Fahim.

You come into the house and say "Asslamu Alikum? Anyone home?". You noticed the house is deserted and decide to settle in till family gets back or something. You look into each room in the house hoping there is a surprise. You open your parent's bedroom and see bedsheets waving in the air till you make out an image of







your sister and ………...

"What the hell? What are you doing?" you shout. Your sister hides under the bedcover.

"I…I..am studying landscaping brother.."

If it's someones bedroom you either hear "come in" or "stay out" ir if you don't hear anything you still don't just enter someone elses private space like that. Unless your friend has epilepsy and you're afraid they are passed out on the floor, or you saw a signs of a struggle, or smell death or something, stay out.

Nah but snooping in rooms is never good. I went into my roommates room when he was gone (dun dun duunnnnn) to shut the bedroom window and make sure it was locked and I found an old bowl filled with old food in his closet.

Its still sitting there....haunting me. I wonder what things are growing in it.

oh, and P.S.- I didnt get the joke....why was the punchline "landscaping"......I dont see the connection between landscaping and doing the nast.
