haha! I'm the same way now too. I used to be able to stay up until 5/6am in my single and child-free days. now i start yawning by 10/11pm and I can't go past 12.
my memory isn't what it used to be. I can think of something I need to do, but literally forget it the next second.
I get excited to shop at children's clothing shops like Gymboree and Carter's, and household merchandise stores like bed, bath, and beyond.

1990's don't seem far away, it still feels like 2000. My gosh, and I still haven't done much with myself! Wowww!

but one of my friends crossed the road once because "there were teenagers on that side." and that's when he was 19 himself. i'm like "welcome to... age."

I'm 28. In less than two years I'll be 30. I think I'm starting to age, especially as I accomplished very little of what I wanted to accomplish in my '20's.

I still feel quite young, though, despite the feeling that my body is a shell of what it used to be. I can ride ride 20 miles on a bicycle, but whenever I do that now, I feel it.

So like, even though I'm the muslim version of Dorian Gray, every now and then I have these incidents where its like WHAM!! straight in my face, that I need to start feeling [and looking?] as old as I actually am.

The other day I was on Facebook, and randomly came across a photo of the daughter of one of my family friends. The girl was about three-and-half years old when the pic was taken in the summer of 08. And everyone is like "oooh mashallah so cute blah blah blah."

And then this one girl who is a mutual acquaintance of both of ours, and her husband is a highschool chum, she comments on the pic and says "If my son was older, I would propose on his behalf!" .... my friend replies and says her daughter is in fact younger [by a few months apparently].

Those comments were made back in the summer of 08 and I just now actually bothered reading them and I'm like .... what the hell? One of MY highschool friend's wife is proposing already on her son's behalf (even if jokingly) ... to a girl who I've seen since she was born and watched her growing up?

WHAT THE HELL? Did some push the FF button on my life or what?

And the of course sumi had to go push it in everyone's face that Aladdin and Lion King and all were like what? 20 years ago?

I don't know, IbnMardhiyah... I think FML sounds massively ungrateful. I know you and I are grateful for our lives and our hedaya, but it reminds me of all those chicks who keep saying they hate their hair, they hate how fat they are... Perfectly healthy women who speak the first language of a country people die to come to. FML seems like a mark of a society in decline. Do you concur?
