urdu is not called islami becuase urdu actually means "army". a looong time ago, before Akbar, a kind gathered people from everywhere to create an army. However, since people were from all over the place, they didnt know how to communicate. therefore, they slowly started to form a language, taking some phrases and words from each language which slowly developed and formed "urdu"
reference: my mom. she is an urdu teacher. a cool one. ask her students.
