i have a problem. i can rarely eat out without thinking to myself, "i so could have made this myself." i feel like an idiot paying for someone else to make something that i could probably make...better (usually). the only exception to that rule in recent history was a couple weeks ago, and that cost me $30, even after splitting the whole meal with a friend. (no regrets; it was delicious and the steak was perfectly medium). i'd like to just stop eating out altogether, but then people always want to, i can't just sit there w/o ordering, etc.

i'm stuck.

I usually use broth and some lemon juice instead.
