The thing is that I am used to eating desi food and in order to cook curry and whatnot, you need to know X number of masalas and whatnot...but i hardly remember any names. Anyway, it took me a month to lose bits of fat i gained. Junk food is not THAT bad afterall.
besides, fine dining ranges from 15/head and goes upto $200/head depending on what restaurant one goes to in my area.

I can make amazing breakfast, tuna and grill sandwiches for lunch...but thats about it.

assalamu alaykum
shahrukh open up a thread about this instead, please?
I cooked maluba yesterday - was delicious alhamdulilah, got tired of takeaway(even italian), and today sharba. REALLY need to find new good recipes, tired of cooking the same old in different orders

Re: The Art of Cooking
for some reason, i cannot for the life of me cook pulao. it's always a mush. on the other hand, i make a killer chicken biryani, b/c the procedure of mixing rice and masala is different. i just cannot seem to get the rice and water ratio right when i make pulao.

some people I know call it magluba, but most recently I was told it's called ''ma'luba''.
It's a hearty cauliflower, potatoe, rice and chicken dish. Well, you can mix up the veg and what meat you use, but that's the usual combination I'm told

because you keep putting down the idea of cooking. you post here, yet you keep saying that you'll never learn to cook because you don't need or want to. if you want motivation, you should at least say that you would like to learn how to cook.
