i dont like using shan masala's anymore either.

My lamb with okra turned out wonderfully, alas I didnt take any photos.
Next item - South Indian-style coconut fish with lemon rice.

I made that a few days ago, it turned out very well.
I think today I'm going to cook just lamb on its own.
And for the ladies above: If you cook using a pressure cooker, it usually takes only 8-9 minutes for the meat to get tender (depending on the amount of meat), and later you can bhoon it for a few minutes.

Re: The Art of Cooking
A few days ago I was in class, and my cell starts going off in the middle of a lecture. I have Nickelback's savin' me as my tone, and its pretty loud too. I quickly reject the call so it stops ringing, and before I could turn it off completely it starts ringing again, I reject it again. And the third time the prof goes "someone really wants to talk to you, you should take it". So I rush out, accept the call and its my dad: "beta, will you have time to cook today or should I?"

Today I made grilled cheese sandwiches and carrot ki subzi for lunch. with a glass of lassi that my dad made.
for dinner yesterday I wanted a bagel but we were out of cream cheese so I put some gruyere cheese on it instead, tasted pretty good. Not as good as cream cheese, but I ate the whole thing. Gruyere and parmesan are my favorites.

Re: The Art of Cooking
I made chicken biryani last night (my mom in law's recipe). it came out really good, alhamdulillah! the only problem was that I overcooked it slightly, so the rice was kind of dry. but it tasted just like my mom in law's does (and she makes the BEST biryani), so I'm happy.
and the best part is.. no shaan masala required, heh.
