Re: Garlic Sauce
what to feed friends when they come over and you don't care about being proper:
pizza! make the dough ahead of time, chop up some vegetables for toppings (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, whatever floats your boat), make some sauce in a pot, and when they come- hand everybody their own piece of dough, a round cake pan (or just about any small round pan for that matter), and let them get to it. ideally you would have an area for all the toppings (i forgot to say cheese), but if you're like me, things are alll over the place. it's fun either way, and nobody can complain about what they don't like about the pizza.

my mom makes shawarma at home and it tastes almost like the one in restaurants except for the darned sauce. the secret is 'shawarma spice' you can get it at your local arab store. im pretty sure it is labeled ''shawarma spice' just throw that on your shredded chicken.

Re: Garlic Sauce
does anyone have a simple recipe for curry kitchri, i've looked on the net and most recipes contain only the kitchri, not the curry. I can't imagine one without the other
i made lemon shortbreads, the turned out very nicely. If anyone would like the recipe:
185g butter
1/2 cup caster sugar
1 juice of lemon and its rind
2 1/2 cups flour
I put some baking powder in there too, as i ran out of flour at the end

aw, i hope you find it soon insha Allah. Probably when you're least expecting it. So far in ym cleaning mission I have found my white gold diamond earings, other earings, my recipe book, a pillow to the new missing bed set, a harry potterbookmark that's special and currently on the look out for the old silver ring i lost.
I hope you find it soon
-- ok my soup sucked. Not enough lentils, this isn't the first tim ei've made it but I KNEW i shouldn't have let my mum tamper with it!

you can buy garlic sauce???????????? WHERE? hm i'll def try the tawook spice
i actually ended up trying this recipe yesterday Lebanese Garlic Sauce - Allrecipes
and then went off on my own. i thought 1 cup lemon juice was too much so i only put a couple splashes.
first i blended garlic and lemon juice and salt together. then started adding the olive oil. and then i kept tasting it (do not do this) and it was awful and i kept choking on it. so i added more cloves to offset the lemon. and then i was scared that my mom would yell at me for making a mess and not coming up with something so i added some mayo and microwaved mashed potato. by then my tastebuds were messed up from all the garlic i tasted so i dont really know what i ended up with.
it's sitting in the fridge in a pretty jar. my mom said it was good.
my mouth is still garlicky. and its my first day at my new job today
i probably wont taste it till the weekend cuz i want to reset my tongue

Re: The Art of Cooking
I have to go to this potluck. Dunno what I'll make. Any ideas anyone?
Maybe I'll just end up buying some dessert or something. Don't feel like cooking.
All I've been "cooking" lately is sandwiches. Made burgers for my brother and cousin. And scrambled eggs.
