Re: The Art of Cooking
Omg Variable, are those the electric kind? I've wanted one for a while now.
That and a crockpot.
Laimuun: My parents are like that too. But in a way, it makes sense. Sucks when chicken is bland on the inside. Cut it into smaller pieces then and let it marinate for a while. Or poke holes in it before you marinate it.
Chili looks awesome. I want.
I made tacos for dinner and then a greek salad for my brother because he'd been having a craving. I heart feta cheese.

recipes are no fun when it comes to chili, i think. but your concoction sounds delicious! especially the brown sugar part.

Re: The Art of Cooking
How does this sound - Dessert Club Sandwich with Pineapple Fries and Strawberry Ketchup.
- get outta town.
So basically you take chocolate pound cake, slice it up like bread- three pieces.
And then spread a layer of whiped cream on 1 piece of it, top with white chocolate slice, and strawberries. Top the second layer with banana slices and remaining strawberries. (you can also add fresh basil leaves too). Chill.
It says to pierce each portion with a fancy toothpick.... whatever.

nice. i was watching something on food network about how they catered for a magician's awards dinner (something about magicians), so they made each course look like something it wasn't. i think dessert looked like a hamburger (and tasted like dessert), etc.

Made some today.
Well, my mom was making it but she made me stir it for like an hour while she did other things.
I'm like "Hey, this isn't difficult." Just takes time.
Then after, I'm the one who got the credit for making it. I was all "But I didn't even do anything; I just stirred." But my mom's like "Well, that's all it is."
I think this is her way of encouraging me to help in the kitchen more often.

I remember that one, it was on Dinner: Impossible. All that frozen nitrogen stuff. My mother made this paneer dish the other day, she grated it coarsely and cooked it with some spices, and it looked just like scrambled eggs and it reminded of that episode.
