It requires very little seasoning, especially if you pick a flavorful sauce and the salt and pepper you can taste as you add. So basically, the only ways you can mess up is if you under/overcook the pasta or the meat. If you fail at that... then maybe toast is your first lesson...

squash squash soup I used fresh, not frozen, and didn't make the mint puree. Very very tasty and very very healthy. Look at the mad nutrition data for one cup.

My fav fish recipe:

Baked Dijon Salmon

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup butter, melted (I used light butter)
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
4 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
4 (4 ounce) fillets salmon
salt and pepper to taste
1 lemon, for garnish

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a small bowl, stir together butter, mustard, and honey. Set aside. In another bowl, mix together bread crumbs, pecans, and parsley.
Brush each salmon fillet lightly with honey mustard mixture, and sprinkle the tops of the fillets with the bread crumb mixture.
Bake salmon 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until it flakes easily with a fork. Season with salt and pepper, and garnish with a wedge of lemon.

Most pasta dishes are very hard to screw up. Like lasagna? That was the first thing I ever cooked.

There's always room for improvement, but yeah generally its almost always edible at least.

Thanks ladies! Hopefully it'll turn out the same for this Friday.

sumiyia: how many servings does that recipe make? it looks like a lot... i might have to half it.

I actually used an entire box and more ricotta, so don't base it off my photo. But if following the recipe to the exact, it says 14 1c. servings.

Timbit: Most pasta dishes are very hard to screw up. Like lasagna? That was the first thing I ever cooked.

I agree. The most common mistakes people make with baked pasta dishes is burning the top and/or the inside being very dry.

It's hard to destroy it... but it's also hard to make it really good.

A lot of people make it and it's like eating soggy rubber.

I sampled some mole at the grocery store (why had I not tried it before??) and I remember variable and someone else talking about mole a while back. so my question is, what can you do with mole? do you eat it as a side or a marinade or what? any good mole recipes? thanks!
