That's awesome.
My family says that when I get married and they come to my house, they'll make sure to eat beforehand 'cause they know I won't feed them. Ouch.
Of course I'll feed them. It just might not be very good food.

Hahaha, well my siblings immediately started talking trash once they came in but they were also the same ones trying to take mad food home.

Why do you offer to cook for me when you know you cant? you put me in an awkward position every time

Spice can't cook either. When her mom isn't around, she starves to death.
Spice says:
lets starve together
Spice says:
like
Spice says:
paris and nicole

i'm going to try this ratio when i make pulao next time.
i'd have to say zebra brand rice is the best! expensive, but worth it.

Awesome Masala?
My mom's coming in 3 days (inshallah) and today she said the nicest thing to me. "I've never gotten sick when I've stayed at your house. I think it's because you eat so much fiber" apparently she gets sick at my sisters houses because either their food is too sweet (she's diabetic) or too fatty (she has no gallbladder).
I'm going to have to tone down the spiciness though.

Re: The Art of Cooking
'pilau' is spelled 'pilau'
'pulao' is an acceptable but deprecated alternative
it is not spelled
'plau'
or
'plow'
or
'avusblau'
or
'snowplow'
if it's considered valid to spell it any of those ways within your culture, perhaps you should consider switching cultures

bangali's don't pronounce it "pilau" so our preferred (note: TRANSLITERATIONS CAN'T BE SPELLED WRONG) spelling is "pulao."

i've decided 'pulao' has gone from deprecated to completely wrong. i only said it was acceptable but deprecated coz i see it spelled like that so often. memons pronounce and spell it as 'pilau,' so that is clearly what is correct.
transliterations should be spelled so that theyre at least somewhat phonetically correct. 'pulao' is a different pronunciation from 'pilau,' so it's wrong. don't argue with me about this. i'm an expert when it comes to pilau.
