I don't have anything against rice as a nutritional choice, I just don't like to eat it. That's why I suggested bread

Anything can be unhealthy. For me, frozen yogurt and fruit is a way to fulfill a craving without having to feel guilty or make drastic cuts in that days meal plan to afford it.

compare:

Edy's slow churned Vanilla yogurt blend:
NGREDIENTS: skim milk, sugar, cream, cultured skim milk, corn syrup, maltodextrin, whey, mono and diglycerides, milk minerals concentrate, guar gum, locust bean gum, natural flavors, annatto color, carrageenan

For me, if I want a cold, sweet ice cream treat, I'll pick the frozen yogurt, save myself 40 calories, and 5 grams of fat, which I will promptly replace with 1 tsp of Hershey's chocolate syrup

Hershey's chocolate syrup:

(there are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon, so 1 tsp is 1/6 of the above)

They key to anything is portion control. You get one, and only one, scoop of ice cream. Scoops work best I find. Then you can add strawberries, a banana, and a tsp (measured) of chocolate syrup.

Oh, and don't do it every day.

EDIT: sally, I read your post. I know you're not hating on me

So far you have all listed snacks....can you mention some meals? i.e. what should I eat for lunch and dinner?
Since you're cool w/ non-zabiha, I highly recommend beef jerky as a snack (though not if you want to shed water). Carrot sticks are good, too.

For meals: grilled filets of most kind of fish or grilled chicken with steamed vegetables, brown rice or a sweet potato

guacamole is not low fat (though it's not necessarily 'bad' fat)

I'm a huge fan of Salmon..healthy and low in mercury compared to Tuna.

Wrap some Salmon with Romaine leaves..its awesome.

Also educate yourself on Salads...Icebergs are crap go for spinaches or Romaines...the darker the leaf generally more nutrition to them.

I eat a lot of fish or chicken..make sure your eating lean meat...check labels and ask questions..not all Turkey or Chicken is lean.

Turkey Burgers are pure win.

For a snack, a banana is perfect! 90 to 120 kcal, satisfying and healthy. That`s my afternoon snack most of the times, but i also change that for an apple, or a small pot of regular yogurt (almost all light yogurts have gelatin as an ingredient)..

EDIT: I don't want to derail your thread or start an argument and I'm definitely not judging you. I'm just wondering about your reasoning, okay? Okay. You don't even have to reply here: send me a PM if you'd rather do that. 'Cause I don't want to derail your thread.
