It's all a matter of looking at the individual somatypes and then deciding which one you identify with closest and what tendencies you exhibit from other types.
Ectomorph: Relatively light skeletal structure, tends to stay pretty lean-ish.....has a tough time gaining muscular weight.
Endomorph: Denser bone structure, tends towards accumulating fat easily , has an easire time adding muscle and a tougher time losing fat.
Mesomorph: The envy of the other two somatypes.....dense bone structure, adds muscle relatively easily, loses fat pretty easily as well...recovers extremely well. Is usually a jerk lol.
So it doesn't really matter at the end of the day what category you fall into, you can still make great progress you've just got to adjust your training accordingly. For example Infamous Brown's program would probably not be too good for ectomorphic types over the long term (as it eats too much into recovery).
I called Infamous Brown an endomorph earlier when I meant to call him a mesomorph.

I'm a total ectomorph i only put on fat if i do almost no activity..now that i've started eating a bit better and exercising i've lot a lot of visceral fat from around my stomach and chest.
I want to get really lean then aim to bulk up..i'm considering Kickboxing again.
Heres my Typical diet
Breakfast: 3 eggs (usually whites), Morningstar breakfast pattie, 2 slices of WW Toast, 1 Apple
Snack: Protein Bar and lots of water
Lunch: Tuna and leafy romaine/spinach salad.
Snack: Pretzels(1 serving)
Dinner: Chicken breast or Veggie burger, Either potatos, or WW pasta/rice(1 serving).
I take one multivitamin but i'm going to go ahead and get some omega 3 supplements too. I really want to get this last bit of fat off.
My wife is Endomorphic do you have any suggestions dietwise?

That's great bro! I think most guys tend to put on fat in those same areas......usually it goes to my stomach and lower back.......back fat =

I'm looking to get into muay thai as well! Your goals are totally doable......it's really the diet that's key to both. Training is obviously important too but ppl tend to overemphasize "routines"......it's just trial and error some will work better for you than others.

Your diet looks pretty good......just a couple of suggestions. Taper your carbs so that you take in the majority of them earlier in the day and little to no carbs towards the end of the day. The only exception to this general fat loss rule is your post-workout window (roughly 2-3 hours) where your body can metabolize and make use of carbs super-effectively. A couple of reasons for this........ppl tend to be more active during the day and thus burn more cals...+ loading up on a dinner with pasta at the end of the day when you likely won't be doing anything else probably won't be too helpful. Also make sure each of your meals (including snacks) is organized around a serving of protein........this keeps your insulin levels balanced and stokes your metabolism. So for example I would substitute some sort of protein for your pretzel snack and add veggies and a fruit to the side.
Try to work in one more meal.....getting 6 meals a day means you'll be eating every 2.5-3 hours which is also really good to keep your metabolism revved up.
Go crazy with veggies.... it fills you up and won't count against your calorie restriction (as long as there's no sauces.....vinegar and some olive oil are fine). Take in some more fruit as well.....but don't go crazy with it to the same extent as your veggies. When I say I mean go crazy.....I mean don't worry about cals at all when it comes to veggies.... just eat to your hearts content.
For liquids....drink a couple of gallons a day, it keeps your cells hydrated and helps with effective digestion. Start drinking green tea....it's been shown to speed up the metabolism and provide several useful antioxdants.
Honestly your wife would benefit from the same exact plan.......when it comes to fat loss the principles are pretty much fixed across somatypes.
Check out this short article....it's awesome. One caveat.....where it suggests "brisk walking" I would substitute more serious cardio work (if your wife hasn't done any exercise for a while than she may be better off starting with the brisk walks)

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
yuppp, that quiz confirmed my assumptions to the dot..between meso and endo
all of you who work out regularly or eat healthy, do you take any supplements?
on a daily basis,
i take black seed supplements with breakfast in the morning
i add flax seed to my protein shake and have it everyday..or i have it via the peanut butter i eat regularly..it has flax seed oil in it
pure green tea pills (nothing fake or added) before working out
then after working out, with dinner i have my two multi vitamins for active women

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Sally I take a "women's multivitamin", fish oil and glucosamine. I started the glucosamine when I was training for the half marathon and my knees were bothering me. Alhumdulillah, it's been okay since then.
