Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Good article
I work at a fitness club and it's not just about working out 3-5x a week...diet is soooo important and it's so easy to slip up while trying to slim down. If you can afford it, best thing to do is get a personal trainer to get you started on a program.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
my official title is "lifestyle health consultant'' haha, but i'm not a personal trainer or anything. Basically when we get a confused person walking into the gym and are thinking about whether to join up or not, they send them to me and i walk them though and help get them set up on a program.
it's a fully equiped gym...our gym is divided into a coed and women's only, with aeorbic floors on both sides, climbing wall, the works IPFA affiliated too! I love working there, and i've thought about getting certified as a personal trainer if my other career plans don't fall through. I've watched guys go from scrawny to ripped, women go from blubbery to toned (yes ladies it IS possible) and everything else in-between...it's an interesting place.

You've been posting about doing 500 crunches for a long time now. Just wondering if you change them up, I mean the way they're done and all, intensity wise, etc? Because a single exercise becomes ineffective after 3-5 weeks of being performed without any change in routine. The muscle group being targeted begins to think of the exercise as a normal daily occurrence with no merit and develops resistance to it.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Assalam,
My routine usually consists of running the Treadmill for about 30-40Minutes, then doing Free Weights working on Triceps, Biceps, Calvs, and Back on Monday & Wed, BenchPress, FOreArm, and ABS, on Thursday and Friday, and then neck, shoulder, whatever is left on Saturday and Sunday. Run everyday and drink Weigh Protein and lots and lots of water. However i have no been to the GYM onces in Ramadan ^_^ no ENERGY to burN! so i've lost some muscle :S but iA starting again on MONDY!

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
I plan on losing weight and becoming fitter and healthier and now that ramzan is over I'm gonna start going to the gym, maybe not a very regular basis..but it's gonna be something compared to nothing! I also intend to cut down on junk and crap that I tend to enjoy feeding myself..I'm so excited for the change in lifestyle that I'm soon to experience!!!!

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Seriously, I haven't been working out for the last few weeks. I feel so unfit. I haven't been getting a lot of exercise. Sigh. Insha'allah I'm going to start again after a couple of weeks. This month has been so hectic.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Light day today..ran 4 something miles and weights/toning for an hour.
I'd been working out in Ramadan. Running outside a couple hours after Iftar, then coming home and doing some toning with resistance bands. I didn't have much endurance though.
Anyways been back in the gym for a week plus now, it's great, my second home. Really missed it.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Alright, I'm back on it... (I hope, everything that needed to be healed is healed).
Sally, can you post that crunch how-to that you did before the site went down? I'm still doing the little fast ones, but you did them slow and what I'm betting is more effective.
