cuz your breakfast really determines how hungry you get through the day..if you increase it by even a 100 cals, you'll be amazed at your appetite through the remainder of the day
but i dont know if youre following a diet plan or something of that nature.
omelettes are really good and filling..one yolk, 3-4 whites, throw in some chopped veggies, low fat shredded provolone or feta cheese (because they have tons of flavor in little amounts as opposed to mozeralla which you need a good bit of for flavor) and fry in olive oil or cooking spray
you can also eat bird food type cereal with berries..those really high protein cereals. they take a little getting used to though
if youre in a hurry in the morning the best thing you can do is make a protein shake...water/milk + protein powder + berries or nat. peanut butter tbsp or any other fruit etc.
i read this study about how apparently, whey protein is like magic because of the way it fills people up. one group was given various foods for a meal, the other a protein shake. but the caloric content was equal whether it was the foods or shake. the people who drank the shake though felt fuller longer..twas kinda neat. something about how the liquid takes up lots of space in your stomach cuz its so vast
anyways about the working in the lab thing, props. i couldnt work anywhere i wasnt allowed to eat..i mean i havent ever worked at a lab or anything but ive worked in places i was not allowed to eat but i still ate.
how soon can you get time out to eat something? like cant you excuse yourself and be like i need to go to the bathroom or my car to get something and eat?

diet:
hmm.. i'm not on a diet plan, but aiming for about 1500 cal max with a mix of different kinds of foods. basically: fruits and veggies = good, but don't diss the other food groups too. i'm aiming to get get 4 servings of fruit and 5 of veggies in a day.
work:
ideally, i wake up at like 9, get ready and grab some food to eat on the way to work at 9:30. my problem is, i take a thyroid med in the morning which i have to take on an empty stomach and then not eat for an hour or two afterwards. ideally, i take this during fajr, but often forget.
i usually work from 10-3, with a break at noon or 1 for lunch. i'd keep a snack nearby, but we don't have a fridge for me to store the food (and yes, that sucks. a lot). for lunch, usually i either park nearby and keep food in my car or (don't read this EHS inspectors) keep the food in my backpack in the lab and take it to the cafeteria during lunch. i keep a bottle of water by the door, though, so i constantly step out to take sips.

whey powder on its own? crazy. i wouldn't know, though. I tasted one of my husband's protein chocolate bars and the milkshake looked even worse. no wonder he thought the smoothie was ok.

nice...i love fun classes like that! my gym at school has a hip hop class that id love to try except for the fact that its a mixed gym and the aerobics room is right across from the weight room and every single guy that passes by looks in the window. and some stop and watch for a while. i dont care (as much) if its something like areobics or kickboxing that im doing, but dancing is different imo.

Like what? I don't really pay attention to the other people at the gym, so I haven't noticed. I usually only talk to the people in my spin class (since there are the same few of us who go to the same classes each week) but even then it's only small talk.

Oh yeah, I think people use others as motivation - not sure if it's a game. I do it too. For example, if I'm feeling sluggish, I'll look at what someone else is doing and try to match them for a bit.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
My 'health and fitness' has gone down the drain past few weeks.
I've also developed awful eating habits and bad sleeping timings.
And did I mention headaches?
Can't wait for stupid finals to be done.
I miss the times when I would actually cook healthy food for myself. And sleep on time instead of at 3 AM.
