Re: Health and Fitness Thread
aaahhh spinning! I went to one class a long time ago during a trial gym membership. I laid on the ground afterwards for 15 minutes and within 24 hours every part of my body (especially my legs) was crying in pain.
Never. Again.

Aren't all martial arts made up at some point? Is there some law that a tradition must remain pure?
But in all seriousness, female only dojos are rare. There's no way I'd take a class that had both men and women in it, which leaves very few choices available.

P.S. Were you just PPD positive or did the x-ray show anything? If the x-ray was negative, they shouldn't force you to go on treatment unless you've been symptomatic. Official CDC guidelines for healthcare workers are PPD negative x 2 or if PPD positive, negative CXR, and no confirmed recent exposure, then no treatment unless symptom survey is positive.
P.P.S. If they have a problem with it, look it up and give them the reference. There's no reason you should take that treatment just so some pencil pusher's paperwork is in order. Or sic my school's NP on them, hehehe.

Wa alaykum as-salam,
Well, not pulmonary tb....we were thinking it was abdominal tb...I had two abdominal abscesses....my culture showed mycobacterium...when I posted in the morning, we thought it was TB...but now (a few hours later), looks like it is non-tb mycobacterium. The patho attending will look at it today, and get back to me tomorrow to let me know what type of mycobacterium it is.

Isn't going to med school in Pakistan a confirmed exposure in and of itself? Bro, hope all is well.
I went to spin class today - it was hard but I think my legs are getting stronger.

Hehe - maybe it's Pakistan's way of saying "don't go!". I had a positive PPD once and had to do the whole course since I'd been to Pakistan for the summer and toured my dad's med school. But everything was fine in the end.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
I just had four oreo cookies.
Ugh, I have a habit of eating when I'm stressed/need to study. I need to stop this. The chocolate stock in my fridge is quickly decreasing.
