that's very little. most people need at least a 1000 a day. and even that's not much.
and for the other stuff, i'd suggest reading up on BMR on google and finding an online tool to help you determine/calculate your junk

2000 or 2200 is the average for the current human population in the world..including lots of developing countries in which people are extremely underweight
i think 1500 - 1800 would be a more accurate average for north american females, taking in average diet + physical activity in consideration

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Good God sally. Side plank kills the muscles in my "seat." We had to do a demo of side plank for the final exam and I couldn't sit down comfortably for a day after! How do you work into side plank? I'm also really bad with folds, esp sitting forward folds.

It's total starvation mode is what it is. From my own humble experience, I attempted to starve myself into weight loss my sophmore year of college. I ended up losing 25 pounds in 3 weeks, got really sick, messed up my metabolism, gained it all back plus more. Diets that low should ONLY be done under a doctor's supervision.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
I cut my workout on the elliptical by half. I was on there for 30 minutes. My lower back was killing me. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. Not a super good workout day. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I hate the treadmill .

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
So, back to health and fitness stuff.
I went Spinning today and the instructor was an old man. Like a grandpa. But, he was TOUGH. I got there and saw he was the instructor and was thinking "oh well this will be easy". Guess again!

You've probably seen it at the gym - the class where everyone is on bikes? It's a good cardio workout. I love Spin class. I hadn't done it for awhile since I was focusing on training for the half marathon, but now that I can't really do impact, it's perfect.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
They're different bikes. You do things like stand up on them in different positions, do "push ups" while pedaling etc. You can't really do that on a normal bike without tipping over!
