Re: Health and Fitness Thread
So I'd been going pretty healthy for the past few weeks, alhamdulilah. Cooking my own non-fat food, working out consistenly and doing weights. But then I got sick and everything went down the drain after i recovered. I had lasagne yesterday and pizza day before. Also, I haven't been working out for more then a week. Sigh. I need to get back on trackkkkk.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
DR: I wish I could wake up that early and workout
I don't know what was wrong with me that morning to make me want to get up so early to go work out.
So I just came back from the gym and totally kicked ass. I'm one below being the highest resistance on a lot of the machines. Yess. So I went around doing double or triple time on each. Then I was on the treadmill for 15 mins and the elliptical for 15mins.
Now I can barely feel my legs.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Oh so cute story. My dad has always been muscular and while growing up I use to like to swing from his arms or poke them. It's a running joke between us since I was young for me to kiss his arm muscles. If I think he's been slacking I won't kiss them and he gets offended lol which motivates him to work out harder. So the other day I came back from the gym, totally impressed that my arms are finally going from grandma flab to muscle again, and I was like, "Dad! LOOK! My muscles are even showing through my shirt " He was like, "Yeah. Sure. Let me feel." He felt them and he was shocked. He was like, "Awww! That's my girl! Yeah I can feel it! Here let me kiss it". And daddy kissed my muscle.
...yeah my dad and I are weird.

$10 from Walmart. My friend got one from Target for $2.50. She found her's in that little sale/clearance area that they have in the front of each store - right when you walk in.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
I did awesome today. 40mins of hardcore workout. 20 on the treadmill and 5 cooldown time. I finally did over a mile. Yay.
All this was due to the TV being turned on. I get so much more accomplished when the TV is on.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
So following Sally's suggestion I got that book Winning by Losing by Jillian Michals and so far it's all right. I don't know if I'm working out enough/hard enough and if the food is right. I'm a balanced oxidizer so I should be getting 40/30/30 (carbs/fat/protein respectively) but I can't seem to get in all the fat and I ended up eating under by 100 calories then my plan. It's really tough to make that ratio! ... but I'm trying my best.

I wonder if it has a online version to look at? Maybe I'll check it out at a bookstore to see what the fuss is all about

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
I started exercising once again, Alhamdulilah. I need to make it an everyday thing and not just whenever I feel like it. Consistency is one of my weaknesses, can't keep up with it for long. So, I'm starting small, at least half an hour a day, everyday. For now I'm using the treadmill and the programs that came with it.
And sally recommended a book to me too, which I bought of course. Going to incorporate that into my daily routine, insh'Allah.
