in other news, my work works me to death and does not pay me nearly enough for the kind of work i do. more importantly, there is constant drama amongst other employees and the management and being exposed to it and everybody who is pissed off because of it is absolutely annoying. i'm considered one of the best employees apparently, and am constantly told that i am good at my job...but i think they're just saying that because they think i'm gonna put up with them for a long time because i wanna make something like this my career and so they think i'm at their mercy for the experience..or they're just taking advantage of my niceness. not sure what's going on. and hey, if you think i'm that great, why not recognize that you pay me crap to put up with your multitude of work/drama?
also ive been more than considerate about asking for shift/schedule changes etc..i killed myself working and schooling for a while tho i desperately needed a cutdown of hours only because i cared they didnt have enough people to work for them at the time in the first place.
i now realize why so many people join and quit at my workplace..
advice? to put up with something because it'll look good on your resume but is essentially crappy? i dont want to quit so soon into a job so ill be sticking around another few months regardless but i need direction..sighhh...im def gonna start looking at other places. my dad said i could get paid a crapload more than what i get paid currently if i found a job at my moms hospital but i was like, EXPERIENCEEEE.
if i think realisitcally, my program at school has a lot of clinical experience requirements...so it's not like i'll lack anything when it comes to education and practical experience in the end...im just hanging on to this job cuz itll look good on my resume.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Anybody have any dance tapes to recommend?
I was checking out some vids; I like Sarina Jain's Masala Bhangra Workout. I think I'll get one of those.
Bhangra Beats isn't bad either.
Also, yoga is as good as ever. We carry so much stress around with us... after an hour of stretching, I feel soooo good.

If your job is drama-filled and you're underpaid, I don't think it's a useful exercise to stay. You can get plenty of experience in other venues and school should be your first priority. For instance, maybe you could do rehab work or something in a hospital which pays better and is related to physiology, but broadens your experience rather than giving you depth in the same arena.

yeah you're right.
should i quit now or spend at least 6 mos there?
i should prolly just start looking for another job regardless. and i guess to find something that is willing to work with me and my wack student schedule will take a while anyway
in other news, i was supposed to go run..and then i couldnt find my freakinnnnn complex gyms key card...so i was looking everywhere for it..and then i realized my parents have one too..so i was gonna go get it from them but in the process i got hungry and ate something..then i drank a bunch of water and now i have to run on a full stomach..or the illusion of one..nothing more sick feeling than drinking a bunch of water before a run
so im gonna sit here and wait. the good news is that i slept like 12 hrs (with breaks) so im looking forward to the energy but im still failing to understand why i wouldnt store my keycard in the wallet in the first place? like who just hangs on to something like that?

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
I'd probably start looking for something now, and then give your notice after you have something to go to. Honestly, your jobs during college don't matter that much except to get your first real job when you graduate. After awhile, they probably won't even be on your resume. So don't sweat it too much - think of it as a way to make extra money while hopefully learning something.

assalam alalaykum
I'm looking for something gym-free for the stomach region, just a toner.

haha, you said, 'don't sweat it' :lame:
anyways.
i had such an emotional day at work today. i met this young woman who just got divorced and moved to a whole new city and is struggling with so many diff problems and stuff and then i was talking to her about nutrition and i saw the look on her face as i was talking to her and she seemed so happy and appreciative and at the end after everything was done she thanked me and i was like, i didnt even feel like i did much to brighten her day, but the fact that she got happy meant so much to me and i began to realize why i like to do what i do and for afew seconds it didnt matter how much i got paid, or all the stupid drama that occurs everytime i venture outside the office
sigh. . .i'm torn

did you already have breakfast before working out?
anyways it doesnt matter..even if you did, eat something within 30 mins to get the max amt of calories burnt off..cuz your metabolism kicks butt for a few hrs after you work out but mainly the first hour
