Question: I already take one Women's One-a-Day every other day and a Viactiv Calcium chew the days I don't take a One-a-Day. Is there any other supplement that I should be taking?

hmm, no i think you're good.

i'm currently debating myself if taking vitamins everyday is a good idea or not..cuz i do eat a lot of veggies and fruits so i prolly get enough of them anyway..but calcium is important..so im gonna keep taking viactive chews

but for about 3 weeks now ive been in this wannabe organic eater for life phase and ive quit taking vitamins, even calcium supplements completely..i just wanted to do that for a whole month and see what difference it'd make. im gonna give it another week before i think about starting to take them again everyday.

it's really tricky because it's possible to overdose on vitamins..by taking a multi vitamin and then eating decent foods normally. and thats not good.

i need to read more literature on thsi issue though..so i wouldnt recommend anybody to stop taking multi vitamins or anything at all

edit: for women specifically calcium and iron are an absolute must. we dont get enough meat in as guys and lose a lot of blood..plus have bones not as strong.

in other news if you have trouble studying or retaining information, try reading right after a good high intensity cardio work out. or even during (if you can deal with distraction, but then if you read during you're probably not doing high intensity)

it really does make the difference.

i should post this in the studying tips thread.

Yes, but only if the wall is parallel with the ground.

Thanks a lot, ibnM.

I'm trying to find different workouts for "stroke victims". So far I found resistance bands very effective. But I heard the "swiss ball" doks great too. Any ideas!?!

Look, if you wanna do pushups but can't do them yet, then get started by doing girly pushups (*gasp* surprise!) - on your knees, legs and torso straight, and get your arms and triceps used to some resistance. Once you can do 10 of those no sweat, you should be able to do a couple of real push-ups.

Have someone spotting you so that you're in good form and your body is straight.

Once you get rolling, its easier to incrementally increase the amount you do, day by day or week by week. I know one girl that used to do 300 crunches a day before she got married, no joke.

i find it so ridiculous when people say/think that doing crunches does anything..

crunches dont do jack after a while. especially not that many. you overwork your ab muscles doing so much secluded ab work everyday (youre supposed to solely work on your abs every other day for max benefits..) and then after a while, your body adapts to it anyway. and plus on their own, meanign without any cardio, they're pretty much useless.

and there's really no crazy awesome desi metabolism. a lot of aunties who are overweight talk about how they used to be skinny. so maybe for a while their metabolism seemed normal, but it's bound to catch up with you one day.
