Free gym 'service'? I'm picturing room service come up and move your arms and legs for you like your doing squats or extensions.

i walked to the gym (30-35 minutes)---> I know i shud've ran, right variable? but i was carrying my handbag, i thought it'd have looked awkward, so i didn't.
then i warmed up +20 minutes on the treadmill
15 minutes on cycle, level 8..intense..
did some situps..and stretched
went on a break for an hr...tried reading my notes..and bumped into an old friend..killed my study time, ended up talking to her instead..
forgot the name of the machine, i think the paddle stuff=worked out for 20 minutes
eliptical=15 intense minutes @ level 8 or something..
then i had to meet for a group meeting..
the main problem i encountered during all this was: I felt this strong hunger PAIN. wth. even though, i stuffed myself the night before. ..so i ate two apples again. and b/f i walked out in the morning, i had one mini croisannat with one quater of peanut butter on it.
any advice?

why are you eating stuff thats so carby- a croissant? is that ever good? wouldn't half a whole wheat bagel be better (more filling as well). apples are carby but apples are good, b/c they have a lot of fiber- which is filling, and they're relatively low in calories.
and can you try and bring some type of snack that has more protein and less sugar in it- like a boiled egg, or maybe one of those skim milk string cheese stick thingys.
Hunger isn't really a problem for me- my problem is eating when im not hungry.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
So.. inshallah my friend and I have worked out a fitness buddy program/schedule. Inshallah it goes well and helps us develop better habits and lose the rest of this "transfer/freshman 15" weight.

I like it before. After cardio, I try and do some light stretching but I'm usually too pooped to do much of anything.
My usual session is like this:
5 mins of cardio (treadmill/elliptical) to warm up
Weights (every other day)
Yoga (I heart yoga )
Cardio
We just got an elliptical at home so that's great; I don't have to go to the gym all the time. We're building up quite the little home gym. Mom's still consistently working out; dad less so, but we're working on him.
Me, I'm doing okay in terms of the exercise. Haven't been eating all that well lately though. I drink a lot of water and try to get the fruits/veggies in there too, but... you know, it was Ramadan and then Eid and then... stuff. Yeah...
I keep meaning to join a Pilates class at the school gym, but it's too late now. Next semester, InshaAllah.

You're too pooped to stretch
I've been icing all day....
I went to do shoulders yesterday, and suddenly my wrist turned into a whole world of pain. ridiculous. I'm happy with my current mass, I'm thinking of switching everything up right now to do lower intensity bodyweight, lighter weight exercises.

ooh, be careful- you don't want to hurt something permanently.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Okay, that's not true. I'm usually way more energized after cardio. I just don't like stretching after. I feel like I'm done my work out and then I don't want to do anything else. Make sense?

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Hey it ate my post.
Yeh I get it, but no... you have to stretch. Believe me you'll be thanking yourself in a few years, probably sooner than you think. Stretching's gotta be built into the bedrock of discipline.

Re: Health and Fitness Thread
Asalamu Alaikum,
Even though I get an hour workout in a day, I still spend most of my day loafing around, especially since I study from home, I'm sitting around alot.
I don't want to develop any lower back pain in the long run, are there exercises I can do in between my study sessions, or something I do once every couple of hours in the day, that last for 5 minutes or so?
Fi AmanAllah
