Ok whatever

I hate it when my sleep schedule is wack and I go to work out, it throws me off

Whatever

I've been doing a ton of stuff everyday but I don't feel that great high awesome I'm getting strong feeling mostly cuz I'm trying to get back into the grind. It's not painfully hard but it's not easy either

In due time.. I'm giving it another week before crying about it
Do the 100 pushups program...it'll get you back on top in no time.

Your lack of sleeps probably affecting your progress. Dude you used to work in a gym you should know how important your Zzz's are! I also read a little thing in Mens Health that said it takes 8 weeks to get past that initial grr period after not working out for a while.

Yeah sleep is muy importante..I'm good about it generally but Ramadan messed me up and then I was getting back into the swing of things but then ended up staying up for most of last night so it was like FAIL

But I'll check out the 100 pushups thing..thanks

sosohalalish, your flesh is turning to jiggle as we sit and type! get off your lazy behind and work out!

yuck! im sorry sosohalalish, that's actually what's happening to me right now. in fact i need somebody to motivate me. i haven't worked out regularly in over a year (since i came to university) and i miss it terribly. thing is, usually i'm so tired from class that i say 'oh yea i'll do it tomorrow' and then tomorrow is just as tiring as today. when i find time for it, it just doesn't happen consistently because then i get busy again

So like I was watching TV, shock and awe, and there was this commercial for a doorway ab machine thingymagingy. Does anyone use such a thingymagingy? It seems very convenient and I don't doubt that it works but I just wonder how the walls hold up.

is that the bar thing which can be used for like pull ups, push ups, crunches, etc? yeah, i can totally imagine buying that and never, ever using it.

Jellymill,
I WORKED OUT. alhumdulilah. my little sister came home from college and was like- why are you eating brownies? what are you doing? go work out! So I did. So let me pass it on to you- not working out in college is a BAD idea. I gained SOOOOOO much weight in my first two years- forget about freshman 15, it was like freshman fifty. Seriously. Cuz i went from working out everyday and watching what i ate to never working out, and eating out with my friends all the time, and eating junkie college kid food at like, 3 am.

I feel so good right now alhumdulilah, working out really does help your mood. Why dont you try waking up a half an hour earlier to work out for just 20 minutes, and then you can increase the time from there.

i know, i know, im not supposed to post on islamica until tomorrow. please dont kill me anyone

good idea and tips sosohalalish, i'm really glad you got to work out mA. I made a plan with a friend to go to the gym tomorrow. She's fasting though so she doesn't want to go until 7, I however prefer working out in the morning. Still, it's better to go than not at all so I will do it inshallah!

Hahahaha. I would. Really. But each time I would use it, I can totally picture myself stressing out over the amount of damage it could do to the wall.

For about a week now, I've been barely eating anything but salads and yogurts. I've been feeling so bleehhh and I feel so retardedly guilty and regretful if I have an actual meal.

Oh that bar thing is really cool.

My scrawny cousin uses it all the time.

I can't really use it because whenever I pull myself up I immediately hit my head against the ceiling..

But if you have like a strong swing outside in the garden - not those plastic ones for kiddies - then that's quite helpful!

Today I did a bootcamp class and then yoga. I modified the bootcamp class though because I was still tired from yesterday.

wow mashallah. ive never actually done yoga- im kinda a cardio nut myself , and when i look at yoga- i think of it as being very non-cardio-ee, and thus not beneficial in the calorie burn department.

Yeah it's not really the best for calorie-burning. But, some of the poses help build strength and it's great to do it after cardio for a nice stretch.

I wanted to change my lifestyle and be fit...now i want to condition my body to peak fitness in an effort to start Boxing again.
my eating habit is still messed up..working on it....im keeping a journal though..

i tried the workout for a day..then by the time, i was home on thursday night..i felt too sluggish and decided to duck in and sleep ..

but today is sunday: mashaAllah me, i didnt sleep after fajr.
i walked to the gym (30-35 minutes)---> I know i shud've ran, right variable? but i was carrying my handbag, i thought it'd have looked awkward, so i didn't.

then i warmed up +20 minutes on the treadmill
15 minutes on cycle, level 8..intense..
did some situps..and stretched

went on a break for an hr...tried reading my notes..and bumped into an old friend..killed my study time, ended up talking to her instead..

forgot the name of the machine, i think the paddle stuff=worked out for 20 minutes
eliptical=15 intense minutes @ level 8 or something..

then i had to meet for a group meeting..

the main problem i encountered during all this was: I felt this strong hunger PAIN. wth. even though, i stuffed myself the night before. ..so i ate two apples again. and b/f i walked out in the morning, i had one mini croisannat with one quater of peanut butter on it.

any advice?
