Mebbe if you feel good, try working out half an hour before Iftar.

As close to Fajr as possible I think.

How many of you work-out whilst fasting? And what are your recommendations/thoughts on it?

I'm considering it.

I take a birsk walk around half an hour before maghrib and then I work out after breaking my fast. I make sure to eat a protein rich light meal and hydrate.

I do a light workout because i have low energy during the day. Also because of my super fast metabolism i have lost 5 lbs since monday.

Anyway, to no one in particular: I find that biking to work makes fasting MUCH easier. It's only about 10 miles a day and when I'm actually pedaling back home, all the hunger pangs I felt in the day vanish totally. Plus it's like I've found energy that I never even knew existed and I do a lot of sprinting
Who only bikes 10 miles during Ramadan? On bad days like today (I woke up later than usual), I only bike about 15. Up to 20 miles on days when I wake up early enough to be able to eat and drink enough. I thought you said you'd do 20 miles a day this year?

But I'll agree. Fasting is pretty easy when you bike. During the ride, your mind is concentrated on the road and the cars around you. If you're thinking about pain, it's in the legs, not the stomach. Even an hour after biking home, I still feel fine.

I've actually found myself biking more during Ramadan this year. After suhoor and fajr, I go out for a quick ride around a nearby lake. I do this again after iftar. During the past 3 days, I probably haven't gone 8 hours within riding around. I'm really hoping to keep up this routine the rest of the year, with the exception of having a small lunch on most days.

I was going to but unfortunately I'd miss iftar and Maghrib if I did. Ah well such is life

I wish I had super-fast metabolism.

InshaAllah khair, I'm planning to work-out after taraweh, lets see.

Asalamu Alaikum,

Eat a date for Suhoor, than eat a date for Iftaar. and your all set

Okie seriously though, I think pilates are really good during ramadan, you get energized and it doesn't drain you, followed by a brisk run on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

The pilates make you loose and warmed up for the treadmilling, and strengthens you.

Fi AManAllah

Pilates is stretching right? Is that enough to prevent muscle wastage? You lose Body Mass by fasting (both muscle and fat).
