Really, I think for me 5 meals a day in Ramadan is pushing it. I'll aim for maybe 3 or 4.
Bro Dreamdeferred: So my mom was fasting today (15th of Shabaan) and she went to work out anyway. I told her not to and I told her what you said and she told me to shut up basically 'cause I'm not a doctor. Told you... stubborn Punjabi. And mean too.

Have iftaar with the family..just do it in moderation. Eat whatever you think you can manage..my meals are seriously going to be a single meat pattie or chicken breast or a protein smoothie.
Which reminds me Starbucks have a new Smoothie aimed at fitness people..might try it.

I'm not going to not have iftaar with my family 'cause of that. I just can't 'cause I have evening classes.

That's a solid plan......good luck sis. In terms of the meals, like Revert said.. when you consider that a protein shake and a banana count as a "meal" it's easier to wrap your head around the idea of 4-5 meals.

That's hilarious.

Yep. Can just a banana count as a meal?

A protein shake and a banana don't count as a meal...calorie's yes but not a meal.

I'm a big believer in the idea that each meal should include protein. So..if you're not interested in a protein shake, how 'bout a serving of lean meat, cottage cheese, tuna fish, salmon or egg whites? Try to avoid eating carbs alone.

It's awesome that she wants to maintain her routine masha'Allah. Why is she dead-set against going later in the evening? Schedule conflict?

It does in my world bro! Now if this is what all or most of my meals consisted of then we would have a problem but my diet is pretty varied and well balanced. When I'm cutting... the ol' protein shake and banana comes in handy as one of my final two meals of the day (out of 6).
