Yeah, I like that she's determined too.
Thanks for the advice.
I'm trying, but you know, my mom's Punjabi and very stubborn. And totally lying to herself about not needing water.

Good for you bro..but some advice...nix the light weights. Do heavy weights they will be better for endurance. You won't put on huge amounts of muscle if you tailor your sets and reps correctly.
Today i did a new bodyweight routine..its killer. Then i finished off doing Tabata sets of Mountain Climbers and on the spot sprinting.
This link has some info on Tabata sets for those whom might be interested.

I think so, you're in a calorie deficit whilst fasting.

Well.......not exactly. Nutrition immediately after you work out is really the biggest concern.....if you eat right after working out you essentially halt the catabolism (muscle loss) that would likely take place. Lot's of people work out first thing in the morning before eating (after an 8hr fast while sleeping) so this isn't impossible....it's still highly undesirable though. For one thing, having fasted the whole day and then not being able to drink water to boot will seriously hamper your ability to really exert yourself...making the whole ordeal less than worthwhile. Revert and PHDgirl have the best plans....exercise either pre-suhoor or sometime after iftar. I'm planning to hit the gym about 45 min after a very light iftar iA....followed by a bigger post workout meal and 2-3 balanced smaller meals afterwards.

last year I was in Pakistan during Ramadan, and I would eat a kabob or something light for ifthaar and then go to the track with my Khala for a 3 mile walk/jog. When we came home, we'd eat dinner (and then afterwards I'd go have a milkshake haha) but I managed to lose something like 2" off my hips in the span of one month, which is kind of amazing, considering the milkshakes I was throwing down.
The weather will be nice this year, so maybe that might be a good idea to try again...hmm...

You can if 2 of those meals are protein smoothies or protein shakes. The other two should be a Chicken Breast and veg or a Turkey Burger and veg or salad. Remember to keep the portions small but filling.
If you're working out regularly you should be eating 5 smaller meals a day.

I'm not doing it with anyweight..yet..then i'll add a few pounds...i also do tabata sets of mountain climbers. Its THE only way to get lean. They teach you to go through the pain and you get fit doing it.
