It happens.....lol, you still worked out though.....that's not really falling off the wagon, it's more like almost-fell-off-but-managed-to-snag-a-foot-on-the-edge-of-the-wagon-to-keep-from-falling-off.

See? There's a difference

Toblerone though? Word? I thought those were only available around the holiday season?

You have running gloves?

I actually used my ipod for a run tonight... I must admit it helped a lot. It plugs into the fancy treadmill and your play list comes right up on the LCD touchscreen, it's pretty cool.

I haven't worked out in a while. Today, InshaAllah.
I'm eating healthy though.

In really good news, my parents are working out regularly now... at the gym, together. In the mornings! Wow. They bought new exercise clothes yesterday. I've never seen my dad in sweatpants before.

I hope they keep at it. I think it'll be harder for either of them to fall off the wagon since they have each other for motivation. Plus, two of my aunts are also going to the gym regularly, usually with each other and/or my mom. And our older neighbour lady...she usually goes in the afternoon and my mom accompanies her sometimes.

And they all seem like they realize it's gonna be tough to reach their goals 'cause they said "Well, we didn't gain the weight quickly so we won't lose it quickly either." And my mom told my dad she wants him to be in good shape the next time he goes to see the doctor, heh.

They've been asking me to go with them too; I'm just like "Sorry, I have homework" or something. But really, I've just been lazy.

I'm very happy about this though, because my parents and their siblings really need to start looking after their health. I'm always telling them "Hello, cholesterol? Blood pressure? Diabetes?" Losing weight and getting more fit will really lower their risk of heart disease.

I think I posted about this before but I've been thinking about it because I mentioned it to my sister also. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me figure it out.

Couple days ago I went to the gym. I felt really tired and didn't wanna go, I had just pulled an all-nighter for a morning class but came back and slept for a few hours before going to the gym. I've been eating fine otherwise. I got on the elliptical and after 10 minutes it was really difficult for me and I could hardly breathe...I remembered someone in here saying "if you can't talk then you're pushing too hard." I recited surahs to myself and couldn't say them properly. I felt incredibly hot and fatigued so I got off, did crunches and light weights for my arms. When I got back on the elliptical the feeling only got worse so I cooled down and went home. The heart rate said 156 but I have feeling it was way above that.

So when I got home my face was still very red (my face doesn't usually get that red while working out) and my husband even commented. My arms and legs felt like jelly. I took a really cold shower, drank lots of water and lay down for 15 minutes but my face was still very red and flushed for hours afterwards. The next morning I felt weak. Could my blood pressure have shot up? I don't know why it would?

Was this your first time doing cardio in a long time? If so.....youi might be better off easing into it. Start with brisk walks 20 minutes a day for a week or so....after a week of this you'll probably be ready to hit the machines.

If you've been doing cardio for a while this may just be a "one-off"....we all have weird days, I had an experience similar to that once and I freaked out because it's not like I was a newbie or anything....never happened again though so I have no idea what it was all about.

Don't force anything....take it easy and get a check-up if necessary, caution is best when it comes to your health (might be time for a check up?).

I haven't been working out regularly for a while but I recently started and just 2 days before I'd been fine with 20 minutes on the elliptical/15 on the treadmill etc. It's never done that before, guess it was an "off day." Good to know you've experienced it too, inshallah it was nothing.

Thanks

35 press ups in normal
15 in close
5 one hand push ups each side
25 crunches
25 butterfly crunches
25 olbique crunches each side
25 reach around crunches (each side)
15 leg raises

Cardio was a 20 minute brisk walk then 5 minute of intense skipping

I'm starting out light and working up.

I tried using the resistance band but it didn't offer any resistance only in 2 positions...lame.
