How much do you spend on groceries a week?
What's the average amount you spend on groceries a week?
I was just trying to be good and analyse my spending, and I think I spend too much - about £45-50 a week. (that's US$90-100).
How much do you spend?

about ~$100 a week once you factor in the halal meat and such. However, we can sometimes go 2 weeks with just a quick trip to pick up milk if I have an exam or something.

About $50/week, which is surprisingly low, now that I think about it. I wonder how we pull that off, considering I eat as much as I do.

It depends on where you live, and what you buy. A good $20 of our bill is just fresh fruits. If I were back in my home state, it wouldn't be that expensive. I'm also really careful about how much fiber and fats are in the foods, and high fiber low fat foods generally cost more.

Oh maybe we should specify how many people our weekly spend is for. Mine is pretty much just for me, although when people come round, they do eat some food I guess.
I'm guessing Chotoo, Shotgun your spend is for two?

Correct. I guess a lot of it has to do with us buying in bulk from Costco.
EDIT: Actually, we have our weekly Farmer's Market that my wife buys from, that saves some scratch as well. It's pretty cheap.

i spend about a 100 bucks on just food for myself, per month. i think. but only because i'm big on quality

i remember i was having an argument with my friend about the minimum income you needed to make so that you could support a fam and what not and he was throwing out figures and i was saying stuff like hell no electricity isn't a must etc, and we got to groceries and he threw out another number and so i called my mom up and asked her how much we spend per week/month thinking it'd be pretty low since i never seem to find food in the house, but it was surprisingly high, though i don't remember the exact number.
this led me to the conclusion that my mom hides the food from me.

I think I'm doing like 100 bucks a week...
If I had a Superstore nearby (of the Real Canadian variety ) I could probably cut that down a bit. I love the cheap versions of all the brand names.
