"There is no difference whether you have a basketful or a small piece. They all taste the same," Hodja remarked.

What's worse, minute amounts of pharmaceuticals, or way above EPA limits of arsenic, lead, and other heavy metals in the ground water.

About 100 quid a week for the both of us. I didn't realise this until the other day and it seems like a lot to me, for just 2 people. We do most of our weekly shop at a lower priced supermarket but we do buy a lot of fresh fish, fruit and veg so I suppose that might have something to do with it. And recently food prices really have gone up, especially on staples like rice and milk. If we had other expenses like a car, we'd really be feeling the pinch right now. Things are probably going to be tight anyway once the baby arrives, but as we're hoping to get a car then as well, we're going to have to seriously budget for everything. Alhamdulillah my family has helped us out loads by buying us all the essentials to get us started but it's still going to be a challenge...

My sister's an impoverished university student and she was complaining that her weekly shop has gone up from 20 to about 30 pounds a week, just for herself. It's ridiculous. I really think people are going to have to start growing their own veg.

Eh, about 200-225 dollars every two weeks.

I know this for sure 'cause I'm frequently sent to do the grocery shopping. I don't know the cost of individual items, 'cause I don't really look at that, but I do remember the totals.

And then there's meat from the halal grocery store and that varies (I only buy it sometimes; usually, my dad does), but it's probably about the same, or even way more.

7 people in my family, and three of them are men (k, two men and two growing boys). I tell my mom that we should stop buying them cookies and muffins and things like that though. Not 'cause of the money, but 'cause my bros are getting fat.
