its not even so much the food thats changed its the fact that we have more sedentary lifestyles... ppl in india and pak used to have really active work and would always on the move, now its a case of sitting on a chair all day and typing away on the keyboard... that with wat we usually eat is a lethal combination.

No one (well, almost no one) automatically fattens up after childbirth, as if they can't control it. As a matter of fact, you can lose a pound a week breastfeeding if you keep your food intake normal. Your metabolism changes with age and events like childbirth, but it's up to you to make the necessary changes to adjust for that. That's the trick--if you are eating the same as before, but you're putting the pounds on, examine your diet and reduce your caloric intake because it's obvious you don't NEED as much as you're eating. did you read that other study which said that even south asians who look like theyre at a healthy weight are going to have the same amt of abdominal fat or like the same risk of having or developing heart problems as overweight people

This is very true. A lot of Desi guys who look thin are still soft as hell in the stomach, you just can't tell when they've got a shirt on.
