Usually I wear a few layers under my thobe (except for the thobe I sleep in). But it was really hot today, and I was wearing a black thobe, so I decided not to wear a shirt underneath. And I must say...it felt really liberating.

I hear you bro. Recently I was in the gym hitting the bag and it was empty so I took off my tee after it got drenched --- what a difference it makes!

I recommend Proraso shave cream and a shaving brush. Proraso is what italian barbers use..its amazing. I'd also recommed tossing out your Mach 3 and using a bic disposable, a lot cheaper and a lot better for your skin.

Goop out of a can is total BS

I used to get loads of razor burn and bumps but now I get nothing, its amazing what good shaving cream and good technique can do for you. I also shave 3-4 passes each time i shave, once with the grain, 2 across the grain and then a clean up pass.

try it you'll be amazed.

???

You're kidding right?

I did that once when my local store stopped carrying replacement blades for my Mach 3 so I just grabbed a pack of BIC disposables and its the worst choice I've ever made when it comes to shaving.

BIC disposables are garbage, imho.

i use the norelco t980 for trimming. It does a nice clean trim and comes with smaller attachments for detailed trimming. i haven't used a blade in 6 years

Shaving is a chore. Oh, and boxers are starting to get annoying. I'm tearing a line up the thigh in all of my boxers a la Hulk for more freedom.

What about the bits that need shaving? The trimmer can make it look clean?

No offense but thats probably because you have bad shaving technique. Its nothing to be offended by most men don't know how to shave properly. I learned how to shave properly in the past 4 months or so and i've been shaving since I was 14. A BIC combined with a good cream and proper technique will shave you better and cheaper than a mach or the latest buzzy 5 blade thing.

Dermatologists will recommend you shave with a single blade razor over a mutli blade as its very damaging to your skin.

What cream do you use? If you're using some crap out of a can then yeah a BIC will shred you.

I have really dark hair and pale skin that would never work for me.

None taken.

But yeah, I'd like to hear from you what you've found to be the proper technique. Because I use the same technique with BIC disposables as I do with my Mach3, and the same cream, and I get way more cuts and nicks when using BICs that have barely been used.

It varies. I grab whatever's available. Sometimes its Gillette's shaving gel, sometimes I use a bottle of cream from Body Shop, and sometimes its a big fat can of Noxzema shaving cream that I picked up in France on my last visit there.

Yeah me too. Plus the hair growth is just too thick to only use a trimmer. Have to use a razor.

I was hoping vegetables had discovered a super hi-tech trimmer that was as close as a razor.

Basically its to do with good soap and learning the curves of your face. Shaving a couple of beard reducing passes instead of beard elimination passes. What i do is shave 4 passes, 1 with the grain, two across the grain and one clean up pass. I never shave against the grain.

Theres your probelm there bro, you need a good quality cream I used Proraso its italian, its super concentrated so you use a little to get a good amount of lather, i also use a badger hair brush to get the lather up.

I shave this way initially to egt a comfy shave as my Mach3 was ripping me apart, but now i do it because it saves me at least $20 in blades.

Visit this guys blog Mantic59's Shaving Blog

This si his Youtube channel..YouTube - mantic59's Channel

I think Infamous Brown pointed me out to his vids..i went from there....seriously bro I get nick free, comfy irritation free shaves everytime. I also now get Baby Butt Smooth shaves too.
