cheesecake factory desserts = haraam
pretty sad.
but i heard rumors so i called them up and they told me many of their desserts have animal gelatin
then a few more people i know called and yeah, same thing.
except now we know that except for the icecream all desserts including brownies and cheesecakes have animal gelatin
this is really sad because the cheesecake factory has been my ultimate favorite restaurant..and i just......yeah i dont know what's ever gonna replace it
edit: when i asked what kind of gelatin it is, they said they couldn't say the source for sure since they use diff types..so it could be beef or pork or whatever

Re: cheesecake factory desserts = haraam
That's really weird. Why would you use gelatin in any dessert other than one made with jello? I'll have to ask my mom.

Re: cheesecake factory desserts = haraam
Cheesecake Factory is extremely expensive. I'd rather just go to Safeway and pick up a cheesecake from there, or Baskin Robbins or something.

animal gelatin = pork or beef gelatin? 'cause I'm not a strict zabiha-ite.
but that does make me sad.

I think it's great, just costs too much.

I can't make my own. I'm forced to pay too much for it or bribe my wife to make it.
I even dropped like $100 on special pans so she could make her own cheesecake and she used them like once. wtf.

Re: cheesecake factory desserts = haraam
thats odd. you don't need gelatin to make cheesecake or brownies.

Re: cheesecake factory desserts = haraam
Don't you need those pans that open from the side, that leave the bottom there? I forget what they're called, but they have like a clip to attach the side to the bottom that you peel off.
