i said that because i was under the impression muscles need carbs and protein after they're torn down/worked out to recover?
plus performance tends to suffer due to lack of carbs.

Re: Low Carb/Starch Diet: tips & recipies & stuff
So I was meant to go shopping on the weekend so I could officially start today, but I didnt manage to go shopping, but I'm still gonna start today, I'm going to do some shopping a bit later.
I had an omelette for breakfast with tomatoes, lettuce on the side, cup of tea. First, I didn't feel full, now my tummy feels kinda funny. But I also think it's all in my head, like the thought of 'cutting foods out' makes me think 'I must be hungry' or something, cuz I'm used to eating as much as, and whatever I want .
I need breakfast and snack ideas
I miss you bread <3 .

Your muscles aren't going to tear every time you work out. Light weights aren't going to be tearing up your muscles. It's good to consume carbs immediately after working out to help muscles recover and build, but if you're not trying to build muscle, it's not as important. Although on a ketogenic diet, you can consume a few g of simple carbs after an intense workout and still be ok. Your muscles will use minimal amounts of glycogen far more effectively than normal & it's not gonna knock you out of ketosis.

You might not perform at the same level you would while eating normally or eating big. Doesn't really matter though, you're looking for impact.

Okay so this sucks.
Anyways, heba that sounds delish.
I went out kinda late, so by the time I finished giving my CV's out, Iceland was closed so I didnt buy any food.
Shopping list:
Peppers
Mushrooms
Cheese
Avocados
Hummus
Some kind of non-iceberg lettuce
Spaghetti squash
S.hitaki noodles
Cod
Chicken seasoning
Plain natural yoghurt
Fruit flavoured yoghurt
Asparagus
Tuna snack thingies
Feta cheese
Celery
Maybe some Low-Carb bread.
(Cream of ) Tomato soup
Anyone know of any other thick soups I can buy? Or make easily? Thanks
Edit: oh and dumbells!

Re: Low Carb/Starch Diet: tips & recipies & stuff
So I've had to cheat a bit here and there since there's no food left in the house, literally there's not even tomatoes or lettuce anymore . But I'm not too bothered cuz I've been too busy to work out this week either so it prob wont make a diff. Next week iA.
ps. Life without carbs sucks . There's like no options if you're out and about.....

What was the point of your posting here? jk.
Actually. I was on the bus today and saw some boys from the local school, like 15, 16 and stuff. Tall and skinny and eating chips (fries). I've noticed some girls like that, but moreso lots of boys, who tend to eat mainly junk but are still slim. I wonder why.

To rub it in
Anyway I think guys can do that because they have faster metabolisms, in some cases overactive thyroids, and exercise for recreation as well as health.
I am not sure about this, but I heard that womens bodies are genetically designed to retain fat because of their ability to carry child, and therefore require nourishment during that time. Anyone else hear anything like that?

Re: Low Carb/Starch Diet: tips & recipies & stuff
I just LOVE food. Love it. I just. Food love love food Just I love food :foodlove:
This diet SUCKS.
Carbs are awesomazing.
Im taking sally's advice.
Im gonna start working out properly insha'Allah first. THEN I'm gonna steadily change my food intake to low calorie/healthy. THEN if i can manage that I'll try minimising starchy foods, cuz I really do have too much.
Baby steps eyyyy.
I went on this no-carb thingymaboby cuz I thought I didnt have the patience to do it 'the proper way' but tbh my no carb weeks seemed like FOREVER .
:carblove:
*munches on toast* Mmmmmm...
