This looks yummmmm: Carrot-Parsnip Soup with Parsnip Chips Recipe - Vegetables - MyRecipes.com

Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
2 1/2 cups chopped yellow onion
3 cups coarsely chopped parsnip (about 1 pound)
3 cups water
2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped carrot (about 1 pound)
2 (14-ounce) cans fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup (1/8-inch-thick) slices parsnip
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
Preparation
Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion, and cook 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Add chopped parsnip, water, carrot, and broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 50 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.
Place half of carrot mixture in a blender; process until smooth. Pour pureed carrot mixture in a large bowl. Repeat procedure with remaining carrot mixture. Stir in salt and pepper.
Heat remaining 5 teaspoons oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add parsnip slices; cook 5 minutes or until lightly browned, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle parsnip chips and chives over soup.

Some do, but not all of them. I know that some teriyaki sauce products have it, so I did check the ingredients for kikkoman's. I didn't find anything of the sort. If you just check different brands for ingredients, I know you will find at least some that don't have alcohol in them.

cuz carbs are the primary fuel for weight lifting..most athletes who have perfected this kind of diet dont do it for days upon days straight..they do carbohydrate cycling..so, theyll load up on carbs all weekend, and then go low carb for the weekdays so they can use the fuel from the weekend..even then their bodies are much more different than ours cuz of everything they put it through so i'd personally be kinda hesitant to do it

but that'd be like if you went TOTALLY no carb right? What if you were having a little bit of carbs like some fruit and maybe some rice?

right now every morning or so with my eggs i have half a slice of wheat bread. and then drink a protein shake. and i eat some fruit here and there. and when i look at ingredients of the things i eat theres always SOME carb in it...its not like i have 0 in me, ya know? i appreciate the concern though, really ill be okay
2.5more weeks! i weight in on thursday mornings, ill let yall know how much i lost

there's nothing wrong with weight training on a ketogenic diet. it can only help, since after a period of low carbing your metabolism slows down and muscle starts wasting.. weightlifting counteracts both of those things. though you'll probably retain a little more muscle on a low carb diet than you would on a low calorie diet, even without weightlifting.

Re: Low Carb/Starch Diet: tips & recipies & stuff
I know this one girl who did the Atkins for two whole weeks, and she used to eat the most manly foods ever. She lost a lot of weight in those two weeks, but then she fainted so her mum said she couldn't carry it on. It's a very strange diet.

Re: Low Carb/Starch Diet: tips & recipies & stuff
Did anyone see that programme on BBC Three the other night? Natalie Cassidy (you know, Sonya from Eastenders) was doing these fad diets and examining social attitudes towards weight. She did this maple syrup diet (nothing but maple syrup for FIVE DAYS! insane) and this cabbage food diet (and she was farting the whole time, lol)

maple syrup? is that the one that beyonce did which is actually supposed to be a detox and not a weight loss program?
that's unhealthy though, fad diets are the suck. Long live healthy life styles!

Did Natalie Cassidy lose weight?
I heard detoxing doesn't really 'work', because the liver naturally detoxifies everything already. I wouldn't mind doing a crazy detox for a week though.
