Re: The Official Smoking Thread
displaced: oh, shadha. if smoke is your asthma's trigger, chances are you'll be fine most of the time when the trigger is removed. it's not like you'll be 80 and walking around with an oxygen tank. so why are you being melodramatic? rhetorical question, I suppose. it's who you are.
Actually no. The smoke was what triggered the development of asthma but now my triggers include exercise, stress, temperature, and of course smoke. Yeah wow, I can really get around those. Great thinking.

well, i thought that because it doesn't manifest its symptoms on a constant basis and because a lot of people have different triggers and sometimes your normal trigger may not really be a trigger (essentially for people with not so bad of a case of asthma, it's a random thing) then it wouldnt be classified as an actual disease....but really i have no idea what the definition of disease is. i just thought it was like...a condition. whatever that is

Wikipedia says "chronic condition."
Wikipedia = infallible.

my asthma started because of pollution and went on to be triggered by cigarette smoke, exercise, stress, temperature, pollen, blah blah..
i hate all the damn polluters in the world..do they KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO NOT BE ABLE TO BREATH?
god.
anyway exercise actually makes asthma better if you've got a mild case.

displaced: so..you were asking for his sympathy?
Yeah. Exactly. You hit it on the nail. Cookie? Cause my post couldn't possibly have been to him about how his actions could directly affect those around him, no never. Couldn't be that.

Re: The Official Smoking Thread
my views on smoking aside, let's not forget that shahrukh is into social smoking. it's still bad for his lungs, but when it comes to the impact it has on others..well..a person would be dumb to have asthma and put themself in the kind of environment they know will trigger it. so the assumption would be that everybody who wants to smoke or is ok with it would smoke together in a social setting
