I'm trying to imagine what your sentence would look like if I replaced the word "socially" with "Islamically".

Re: The Official Smoking Thread
The first time I tried smoking I was underage, way underage, so I just rolled a paper and smoked it
Anyway that's not the point, bro don't smoke in the first place. I know more than one people who started smoking with the intention to do it occassionally and became heavy chain smokers. One of them even did some really silly stuff trying to stop; he would throw his ciggarettes and lighter in random bushes or behind trees and after a few days go looking. Tsk.
Remember if you leave something for sake of Allah,he'll give you something that's better. It's Haram anyway. Maybe you could try chewing gum ?

Re: The Official Smoking Thread
for all the propoganda put out by the medical industry, only 10% of smoker's actually develop lung cancer. however, having said that, 87% of all lung cancer patients are smokers. So do take care of your health and smoke responsibility if you choose to smoke. i strongly suggest making green tea as part of your diet, that will lower your chance of getting lung cancer by 40% if not higher.

Re: The Official Smoking Thread
yes smoke responsibly by taking care of your health and adding powerful anti-oxidants to your diet, which kill cancer cells. such as red grapes, and green tea.

The ones who dont get cancer get COPD. The ones who dont get COPD have heart attacks. The ones that dont have heart attacks get cancers other than lung cancer (etc). Most people who smoke for long periods of time will end up dying of some disease that is influenced or directly caused by their smoking
Then again, good food is extremely lethal as well. So are alot of other habits. People are free to make their own lifestyle choices.

actually, if you want to be healthier, then quitting smoking will provide benefits that go way beyond anything that eating grapes or drinking magical chinese tea could ever offer to somebody

Re: The Official Smoking Thread
Lung cancer is not the only illness caused by smoking. These are some of the things that occur more often in smokers:
Chronic inflammation of the airways, increased risk of infections and emphysema;
High blood pressure and increased cholesterol deposition, which can lead to heart attacks, heart failure, and even strokes and kidney failure;
Oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal cancers;
Pancreatic cancer (one of the fastest, most painful forms of cancer);
Bladder cancer;
and numerous adverse effects for pregnant women and their fetuses.
Plus you put everyone around you at risk for all of the above too.
