Hmm I THINK i do this naturally (i used to be a short- middle distance runner in Secondary School) but i'll bear that in mind when i go out later..
My muscles ache from yesterdays run..but in a good way.

i am not a running guru! not yet anyways. ONE DAY iA! but runnersworld.com is an amazing website..check out their forums...and then my second favorite is coolrunning.com which also has helpful tips etc and a message board
runners worlds magazine is pretty decent too
the forums are the best place to get encouragement/advice...theres like a world of runners on there...people running for yrs and yrs and yrs...decades...80 yr old runners...and coaches and trainers and youngins and beginners etc.
so pretty much every possible question about running has an answer there. plus everyones really nice. except its HUGE. like thousands of active posters so you kinda get lost but its ok

Re: runners and running
i tried to get back into running yesterday..it was strange..it doesnt hurt as much but its not completely recovered
i need to wear the knee band brace thing or whatever more...totally neglecting it
so i just ran like 2 miles, one fast one easy then brisk walked three miles at 4.5 miles per hour at an incline of 5.0 which wasnt so bad..i didnt really feel like it was cardio though..felt easy on me so i dont think it did anything in terms of running training but thats ok cuz i gotta get back into it slowly
SOOO GRAND MILEAGE TOTAL for this past week = 4 haha lameeeeeeeee lol.
also at barnes and nobles i saw the cuuutest work out journal..i think im gonna get it..and leave it in my gym bag cuz i wont forget to log what i do everyday

Re: runners and running
recovery is taking it's own sweet time..i would've been annoyed but i realize it's necessary to take time off when i need to because i look at running as a lifelong thing for me..and i don't want to mess up now and suffer later...
inshaAllah khair
doing a couple miles here and there, no biggy
anyways i had a nightmare last night. in which, i was doing the half marathon, and i got to mile 3 and i was SLOW and late late late and freaking out because i had 10.2 miles to go and there wasn't enough time

Re: runners and running
Okay... I'm back with my same old request - help me run faster! I'm always moving around, but I should be at this gym for 2 months.
I know people have given me running advice before, but sorry, I forgot. My goal - a mile and a half in 10 mins. I'm decently in shape, at least in terms of body fat and I exercise moderately regularly. Please help!!
So far all I've been doing is getting on the treadmill and running for like 15 minutes at a level where I'm definitely breaking a sweat and don't want to talk to anyone (or couldn't even if I did).
But I know I have to mix it up, I just don't know how.

Jenny Masche calls running both household and 26.2-mile race ‘exhilarating’

Call Jenny Masche the Marathon Woman. As the mother of 1-year-old sextuplets, that’s what her daily life is like. And somehow during that first year of organized chaos, she also managed to train for and run a real marathon.

Make sure you invest the dough in some good shoes.

I don't need really expensive ones or anything. Just a pair that I can comfortably run 2 miles every now and then in.

You need shoes that will support you properly and allow your feet to land properly. If you buy cheap shoes you will damage your self..look up shin splints.
Runnin 2 miles every now and then is counter productive. You are better of walking 2 miles everyday.

Re: runners and running
Depends on what you're running for. If you're aimining to improve endurance, running 2 consecutive miles is probably better. If you're just trying to stay healthy, either one will work fine. If you want to increase running speed, running 1 mile at a time, but faster, may be better.
