I got red patches, peeling and irritation on my face after using it twice a day for a week. Now I just use a gentle cleanser from Clinique and use the Proactive lotion twice a day with an spf 15 lotion over that. If I use the lotion more than twice a day it makes my skin burn. This is much better for my moody skin alhamdulillah.

i like it, i think it works better than anything else i've tried. my acne is pretty mild though alh, and it only occurs on my forehead for the most part, i get like a pimple or two every 2 or 3 weeks. but this stuff totally works well. my bro has moderate acne, and it works well for him too. i don't think it dries my skin out too bad, but it could just be that i have oily skin in my t-zone (which is the only place i apply it). also, if you feel like you're just about to break out in a place, it stops that from happening.
it kills the acne on the skin responsible for breakouts (P. acnes) and it also exfoliates and clears pores.
you can ask your derm or doc what might work for you. i think different things work for different ppl b/c several variables cause acne, it's just a matter of finding out what triggers your breakouts.

I used this in my teen years..i had a severe case of acne back then. This deff. helped me a lot. It did make my skin dry but it wasnt too bad.

re: benzamycin, I'm using duac (same concept except with clindamycin) and it's pretty good and less harsh because it has moisturizer built in.
Actually I went to the derm today and she suggested accutane. So ya, I'm going on accutane (especially to clear things up before my big day). It's been getting better but it won't hurt to speed things up. In any case, I cried for about an hour after. I'll probably cry again tomorrow... and the day after, etc...

i was on it for a year and it did nothing for me. brevoxyl facewash + benzaclin + retin-A worked MUCH better, and so far the oral contraceptive has probably worked best.

judging from the horror stories i've heard, i do NOT trust accutane. i went to a dermatologist who suggested accutane as well... but when i told him that i have a really strong family history of depression and emotional problems, he said "....okay. nevermind"
