day 1 summer school

i was bored to death in class..as a result..i dozzed off..i strongly dislike monotonic individuals..

my niece and i had same hours of sleep..she was wide awake during the lecture..whereas i wasn't...i really think i shud look into this.. btw she's 17 mA!

yeah, as far as I know the angels wish the same for you.

My flight is on the 10th insha Allah. 2 days left in saudi! 6 months has gone by quick time, subhan Allah.

I'm going to miss the long drives, from the pharmacy to Makkah/Madinah etc, the late shop openings, the haggling at the abaya souqs, laughing at the crazy driving, the strange things the shabaab do, hearning the adhan (whenever we're out..we can't seem to hear it in the flat), the halal burgers, the end of the working day being 1pm and fusha subtitles, and of course, the endless time alone with the mr.

I've read that too. What if you don't pray/ask for it though but just think it? You know sometimes when you dislike somebody and you think "I hate this person. I hope they *insert bad thing here*"? Is that considered a du'a?

Sounds like it was time well-spent. Are you just visiting the UK or going back home permanently?

i used to be able to say/type so much but i can't anymore. it's like i don't really have any reason/need to... which makes me wonder: how self-sufficient can one truly become?
i used to be concerned about not being able to meet/ get to know people and make friends because of work schedules and not having enough time outside of socializing with one's own family/extended families... and also because of being slightly afraid of people in general and how they have the tendency to make your business their business, etc.

i've been thinking lately how nice it'd be to work day shift because it might help with our daily routines, esp if mr. goes to days also (which he's currently looking into doing) but i'm scared of people on day shift. it's like everyone talks about everyone behind their back (some people do it on 2nd shift also but there's less of us and there's usually one person per department so for the most part it's your own little world) and i know gossip is a common workplace thing and i'm not as concerned about someone talking about me as i'm about getting pulled into a biased conversation... i guess i have a lot of practice keeping my mouth shut and i'll always have my books to read at lunch, inshaAllah and i can eat in the lounge with my book instead of going to the cafeteria with everyone else and wishing i had no ears/tongue...

so yeah. that's what i said/typed so i'm not really self-sufficient and would appreciate if someone can remember me in their dua's also. jazakAllahu khairun.

Insha Allah the plan is to stay there 3-4 years. It depends how quickly the husband finishes his qualifications

i totally hear you on the work gossip thing. one of the stores i worked at a few years ago was a completely toxic enviornment. filled with people that seemed to have nothing better to do than stir up some drama. i just dealt with it i guess...whenever they would say something to me about someone else id say something like...oh you shouldnt assume that, maybe he said that cuz of this reason....that kind of thing. a few times i told them flat out that i wasnt gonna sit there and talk about other people....and they shouldnt either. that did the trick...although it didnt hurt that i was their boss and they kinda had to stop if i told them to. (im sure it didnt stop them from doing it when i wasnt there though haha)

but the point is, dont feed into the drama and let yourself get caught in the middle of it. make it clear that you want no part in it and hopefully it wont be so bad

I was looking through classifieds and came across this one ad where the woman was looking for a secretarial position. There were no skills listed, but she did attach a picture wearing a lovely pink dress that ended way above her knees and a cute/ditzy smile on her face.
