there's apparently some research to suggest that wearing shoes all the time is actually WORSE for your knees than going barefoot because evolutionarily speaking, your feet are DESIGNED for walking/running, and to do so they must feel the ground. some scientists think that when we wear shoes (ANY shoes), we strike our feet harder against the ground to be able to feel it better while we're walking. because of this, i think there's been a move to make shoes that are just protection for the feet, but still are able to give you that "barefoot feel"

It depends on the shoes. Some people have a tendency to roll their ankles when they stand/walk, so good supportive shoes can actually align the legs better. However, lots of fashionable shoes are terrible for your knees. Thats why all my shoes are ugly

i should tell my mom that, next time she nags me for not wearing slippers in the house (in summer). i love being barefoot on the hardwood and tile in my house... i never get to go barefoot in my dorm at school, because the floors are always carpeted and dirty.
