Fish oil is the best source for omega 3's. If you don't want to eat fish (they have lemon and cherry flavored ones, by Carlson's, probably the best brand), a good alternative is flaxseed (but fish oil really is superior). You could get flaxseed oil but actual flax seeds are the best. They are really small and you can put them in your cereal and stuff. Evening primrose oil is good for omega 6's. Liquid is always best and the brand does matter. It's probably best to get it from GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, or your local health foods store.

Of course before taking supps, it's always good to evaluate your diet and make sure you're not getting them through another means. For example, walnuts are a really good omega 6 source. A google search could help there. Hope that helps

hmm.. my dad got her a gym membership once (it actually is still valid and expires in 1 month) but she only went a few times. He uses her membership now...she's not big on working out in the gym esp because she is very busy with work.

A bamboo plant is cute . I'll talk to my sister i'A and ask her again what she thinks about the Weight Watchers thing.

Thanks guys

what do you think, though. should i heed the warnings of the irked parent?
it might be worth a try to just check out the place. i dont think there's anything to lose, since there's a pretty likely chance my hijab would make the administration (not to mention the parents) uncomfortable and they wouldn't hire me, anyway.
Just IM me whenever. I'd rather not PM or whatever.

Oh, I know. I did not work in that environment but I went to school in one. I went to high school in one of the most racially divided (and there were many racists) schools in our area. You're right, it is easier said than done, but if you find people that are supportive and cooperative, you can really make a difference.

In my case, the people that were there to support, me couldn't. Too many politics and they couldn't afford to make any ripples in the water.

AAAaaaaaaaaahhh!!! This just might work out inshallah! Please make du'a that it does . Okay so Mr. Jellymill is a sneaky little twit, he even found out about the Wii Fit! Okay I guess that was an obvious gift but anyway. I looked for it for like 3 1/2 weeks and had everyone and their mama on the lookout too. It was hard to find so it's off the list unless one magically appears on the shelf next time I'm at Target .

So instead I'm planning a mini trip with a bed and breakfast and a totally awesome activity that I don't want to mention in case it falls through . This is definitely gonna be cheaper than going on an "actual" vacation. I hope this works out cuz it would be soSOsoSOsooooo AWESOME!!!

I can't get her a gift certificate to a salon/spa cuz I already did that for Mothers Day. I have heard her express interest in Weight Watchers before, it wouldn't be awkward or rude to get that for her birthday would it? If I do that, should I get it for like a month, 2 months, a year, what?

Any advice appreciated
Hummm, i wouldn`t do that... even if i had told people i wanted to loose some pounds i would get really offended if someone suggested that for me, giving me a present like that...or maybe i`m just too weid...

It's your mom. I don't think it'd be awkward, especially if she's expressed interest in joining it. *shrug*

About those men viewing FPH, here is a very recent conversation I had with bravotwozero, one of our moderators.

Timbit says:

Timbit says:

bravotwozero says:

Timbit says:
:-O
Timbit says:

Timbit says:

bravo says:
i don't believe there's anything shameful
bravo says:
here
Timbit says:
oh, really?
bravo says:
no

I asked him if he wants to see what happens if I post his name here and he said "I could care less"...
