Hey, I think 3:1 sugar to water, with a slice of lemon and simmer it for about 20-30 mins. Make a small pan full as it doesn't seem to work in smaller quantities. Wait until it's simmering slowly and it's turning a caramel kinda colour. This will take practice, so if you're patient you'll master it and the whole waxing process will be quick insha Allah. Wait until it cools , it should solidify a little (enough to roll into a small golden ball.)
here's a warning because someone nearly burnt their house down trying this:
DO NOT LEAVE THE PAN UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME it might smoke out ur kitchen, or worse, and turn into a hard sponge like entity.

Definitely the GHD irons. They're expensive (and I would've spent the money on a pair of shoes or two) but they're worth it. They don't seem to cause any damage to my hair alhamdulilah, but I only use them once/twice a month.

o.o
how young are we talking here?
i just started that oral contraceptive i'd mentioned earlier for the first time today, and one of the potential side effects is an increased risk of breast cancer
....not to mention hair loss, random bleeding, and other exciting things.
okay afra. stop reading warning labels and start looking forward to finally having clear skin. insha Allah :vain:

im on BIRTH CONTROL because im SKETCHYYY and dont want to deal with kids at this point in my life.
okay, yeah. astaghfirullah im just on it for acne.
proactiv and over-the-counter stuff never worked for me. brevoxyl + benzaclin + retin-A worked pretty well but are freaking expensive (Brevoxyl facewash alone is $90 a bottle, i think) and, when used in conjunction, make your skin flaky and sun-sensitive. (and mostly, i'd get lazy and skip using one of them, and then break out all over again). antibiotics WITH the three aforementioned treatments works even better, but that's a crapload of chemicals right there (and costs even more). so im hoping a simple oral contraceptive will clear my skin, in addition to making my period lighter and shorter in duration.
my doctor is desi (but not muslim) and i didnt have to convince her at all. in fact, she suggested it. and my dad (who's also a doctor, and is a friend of hers) was pushing for it even more, believe it or not i think a big part of the reason is because i've had issues with acne for the past 6 years now, and my sister used to have it even worse until she starting taking the pill. at this point her skin is pretty much perfect.
but yeah, i'll def keep you guys posted, insha Allah

I use 2c sugar, 1/4c fresh lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water. Boil it all together until its an amber color. It becomes hard once its cold but you just warm it up a bit and its soft. I guess everyone makes it a different way. But like zzze said, never leave it unattended!

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
man...too much homework. I hate it so much. This is supposed to be summer, it's supposed to be fun! My sister is at her friend's house in the middle of nowhere swimming in her humongous pool and I've been stuck on the couch for the last 8 hours stuffing my face and doing my homework and listening to the shrieking profanity-shouting neighbors (i thought they'd go home for the summer? ) . It's so unfair, I miss home already

does it come out right most times? Mine doesn't always for some reason, but I found the exact same thing sold cheaply in pots...no heating required.
